This photoshoot of the Chief Maid accompanying on a summer night was arranged before the weather in Fujian turned completely cold. Even though autumn has arrived, the Seaside still retains a lingering trace of summer. Choosing the Seaside as our main setting, the overall attire was a modified Swimsuit cosplay maid dress—a black base paired with abundant white lace trim, complemented by a silver-white wig and an elaborate headdress, creating distinct dimensional layers under natural seaside lighting.
On the day of the shoot, the sea breeze was quite strong. The wind blowing through the skirt was actually a plus, as the translucent mesh train fluttering in the wind created an effortless, sweeping sense of dynamic flow. However, strong winds also brought challenges, particularly with wig maintenance; long bangs and braids easily got tousled, requiring frequent tidying. Fortunately, strong-hold setting spray was used on the styling, and the eye makeup was drawn to enlarge the eyes, enhancing the overall 2D aesthetic.
The outfit boasts strong design elements, particularly the bodice lacing and sheer mesh combo on top, alongside the white lace apron below. My favorite element is the black thigh ring paired with Stockings, which flatter the legs remarkably well while running or turning sideways, accentuating overall body proportions. The matching black high heels were somewhat tricky to walk in on the sand, but for the best leg silhouette, I insisted on wearing them across a long stretch of the beach.
The first two photos were shot in front of a mirrored archway. Light control in this scene was intriguing; the artificial night lighting prompted me to take extra full-body shots to showcase the dress's proportions, waistline, and leg accessories. The subsequent four photos feature close-ups and full-body profiles in natural light. Especially during dusk by the Seaside when the sky took on a pinkish-orange hue, capturing a profile silhouette against the sea paired the long train with the sword prop to form a striking, high-tension contour with stunning results.
Although it was autumn, shooting this outfit worked up quite a sweat, and the breeze later felt a bit chilly. Yet to present the character in peak condition, every bit of effort was worth it. I also subtly adjusted my poses—such as slightly angling my torso to highlight the bodice lacing, or bending my knees slightly on the sand to accentuate the details of the thigh ring and Stockings. The entire shoot was a joyful experience, blending seamlessly with the Seaside ambiance.
