I finally found time to shoot this Saber Alter cosplay fitting log. For this kind of dark blue dress, the luster and drape of the fabric determine the final quality of the photos. The white cloud embroidery along the hem is very delicate, and pairing it with over-the-knee black stockings and platform high heels elongates the leg lines beautifully while preserving the character's original cold elegance. The matching long black gloves not only slim the arm lines but also add commanding presence when holding the prop greatsword. The wig is pale platinum blonde; I spent a long time adjusting the position of the blue ribbon at the back of the head to ensure it wouldn't sag from the side profile.

Mirror selfies actually test your skill quite a bit. Standing poses require anchoring your center of gravity firmly, because the greatsword is quite heavy, demanding shoulder tension to keep it steady when propping it on the floor with one hand. Side-profile and kneeling poses were chosen to showcase the layers of the hem and the ribbon details on the back. Since this was a cosplay fitting, the main goal was checking whether the costume, wig, and makeup fit properly and whether the overall shape met expectations. The essence of Saber Alter lies in the combination of chilling solemnity and grace. Taking several sets of photos from different angles clearly showed the irregular hemline of this dress. Although the props and shoes made standing and posing a bit tiring, seeing the shots made it feel totally worth it.

There were no heavy post-processing edits, focusing primarily on how it looks under natural lighting. The dark blue fabric appears very composed under natural light, and the texture of the black stockings creates subtle reflections when hit by the light source, making the whole ensemble more three-dimensional. Mirror selfies during a fitting most intuitively reflect how the clothes fit the body—such as the positioning of the waistline and the length proportion between the skirt and over-the-knee socks. Interacting with the mirror made it easier to check the shape of the back ribbon when turning around. Finding the right angles to accentuate long legs in black stockings and body curves is one of the joys of a cosplay fitting. Although the weight of the greatsword and the platform shoes put some strain on my feet, it was well within an acceptable range to fully present the character's aura.

The off-the-shoulder straps provide clear support, and the deep V-neck cut paired with long black gloves creates a very slimming effect. The black leather platform shoes formed clear reflections on the smooth tile floor, adding compositional interest. This time was mainly a selfie session in a compact indoor room, utilizing the white wall and curtain reflections behind the mirror as the background. Light entered from the left window, casting shadows on the right, which instead highlighted the moody, dark-toned texture of the outfit. Because my poses were deliberately held, the flexibility of the outfit during movement was clearly visible. When raising the sword with one hand, balance was key; slightly bending the waist or turning sideways easily captured the fluttering effect of the skirt. This fitting primarily verified the garment pattern and accessory coordination. Through these photos, I can more intuitively adjust my poses and expressions for the upcoming formal outdoor shoot. I hope the next outdoor shoot will feature a more complete background with dedicated lighting and shadows.
