[Misaki cosplay] Recreating the Lazy and Composed Gehenna Prefect Team Head from Blue Archive

The protagonist of this shoot is Misaki from Blue Archive. While many people immediately associate her with iconic hardcore fists and combat stances, I personally find myself more captivated by her everyday state as the Gehenna Prefect Team Head—appearing relaxed and nonchalant on the surface while actually in total control of everything. When I received this wig and costume, my first instinct was to capture this effortless composure rather than simple fierce toughness.

There are so many details worth mentioning about this costume. The navy blue base of the modified Qipao cosplay flatters the skin tone wonderfully, and paired with the striking golden patterns across the chest and waist, the overall layering emerges instantly. The traditional standing collar combined with light blue frog buttons and an asymmetrical closure preserves plenty of Eastern aesthetic charm within an anime cosplay silhouette. The dark outerwear with fine white vertical pinstripes matches the monochrome aesthetic I often wear in daily life, and draping it halfway over the shoulder looks casual yet cool. Of course, black gloves combined with classic Black stockings are essential to building the character's presence, keeping the look faithful to the original design while adding a modern touch of everyday elegance.

The hairstyle was also a major focal point for this shoot. To construct those iconic double buns on top of the head, I spent a lot of time styling the wig, relying on setting spray to firmly secure that fluffy yet elegant shape. Adding the blue bow hair accessories nicely balanced the visual heaviness of the dark wig, shifting the visual focus straight to the face. Trimming the bangs was equally crucial—they couldn't be too heavy and had to cleanly reveal the eyes to convey that all-seeing, insightful expression on camera. While shooting, I couldn't help thinking how charming Misaki's personality is—seemingly lazy, yet never dropping the ball when it counts.

We chose an indoor studio setting for this photoshoot. The golden pleated curtains and dark wooden armchairs in the background formed a lovely warm-cool contrast, while the side-rim lighting caught the outer contours of my hair, making the wig appear much more natural. I chose a seated pose leaning against the chairback, casually tugging at the side hair strands with both hands to present a relaxed, leisurely posture, aiming to bring out the character's grace and ease. I was also very pleased with the composition—the naturally crossed legs displayed leg lines beautifully, and the matte texture of the Black stockings paired with the draped jacket delivered both 2D visual impact and understated elegance.

For makeup, I avoided heavy coloring, relying primarily on layering earth tones and reddish-brown eyeshadow to emphasize depth around the eyes, paired with a slightly upturned eyeliner to give the gaze a moist, penetrating sharpness. For the lips, I selected an orange-toned red that brightens the complexion without feeling overpowering, maintaining Misaki's poised, unflappable aura. During shooting, I kept fine-tuning my angles to find that subtle upward glance at the lens—carrying a hint of scrutiny, but never looking harsh or mean.

To be honest, even with air conditioning in the studio, maintaining the structured posture in a long jacket, hair accessories, and long hair under hot spotlights still made me sweat a bit. Fortunately, the resulting photos turned out wonderfully comfortable. The slimming effect of the Black stockings and the overall proportions rendered in this outfit made me look confident and poised in front of the lens. I hope this photo set allows everyone to see a different side of Misaki beyond her combat persona in this cosplay showcase.
