This photoshoot featuring Tsukatsuki Rio's black-and-gold evening gown is finally ready to share! The moment I first received this outfit, I was completely captivated by its asymmetrical tailoring and exquisite details. To faithfully recreate that blend of cool glamour and aloof detachment intrinsic to the character, we poured immense thought into the makeup, styling, and prop selection.
Let's talk about the wardrobe first. The top of this black gown features an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder cut, with the oversized black bow on the chest serving as the visual anchor. It is embellished at the center with a metallic star accessory and trimmed with golden piping along the edges; under the crisp lighting of our pure white studio backdrop, the subtle jacquard patterns and satin sheen of the fabric were showcased to perfection. The lower half features a high-slit skirt that subtly reveals the Black stockings and garter strap details underneath with every movement. To complement this ensemble, I deliberately selected black pointed-toe stilettos accented with delicate golden ribbon bows—the slender heels not only elongate the leg lines, but also command an unmistakable presence when walking.
For the makeup and wig, to align with the character canon, I wore striking red colored contacts and deepened the eye makeup around the outer corners with a subtle red gradient, evoking a deep, captivating, and slightly dangerous aura. The wig is the classic long straight black hair with blunt bangs; I carefully trimmed the ahoge (cowlick) on top and the textured layers at the ends to ensure it looked naturally voluminous without appearing stiff. A black ribbon clip with a delicate heart motif was pinned to the left side, paired with long dangling golden earrings and a black choker—fine accents that invariably elevate the tactile quality of a photoshoot. The floating halo prop overhead was also a fun detail: handcrafted from thin wire and acrylic plates, we calibrated its tilt angle so it appeared genuinely suspended in midair on camera.
During the session, to accentuate the visual elegance of the evening gown and the Black stockings, I explored diverse postures. The shot sitting on the black velvet fabric with crossed legs—cradling a wine glass filled with crimson liquid in one hand while letting the other drape naturally—not only flattered the waist cutout design and leg contours, but also channeled an effortless aristocratic languor. The standing shot was designed to showcase the trailing train of the skirt: holding arms slightly open tested core balance, as keeping the back upright was essential to support the garment's crisp silhouette. Seated poses on the floor and stances wielding a bow-and-arrow prop further captured the character's tension across varied moments.
The entire shoot was admittedly quite demanding on physical stamina—balancing in slender stilettos while sustaining complex postures—yet seeing the finished frames made every bit of effort worthwhile. I am truly enamored with the visual punch of this gown: the collision of black and gold accented by the red wine glass prop. I hope this photo series allows everyone to feel the character's distinctive charisma.
A huge thank you to the photographer for the precise lighting, which allowed the fine textures of the fabric and skin to be documented flawlessly. This Studio portrait experience was immensely rewarding; I gained fresh insights into pose choreography and expression management, and I look forward to exploring more diverse styles ahead.
