For this summer special shoot of Blue Archive's Ibuki, the preliminary preparation work was actually much more meticulous than expected. To make the frame present that refreshing summer beach vibe, we put a lot of thought into the set design, choosing high-saturation bright blue background paper to simulate the sky and water surface, paired with pink and white life rings, as well as a vintage wooden folding chair and a gramophone. The overall color tone mainly focuses on a bright and translucent summer atmosphere. Because Ibuki's character design is inherently very lively, I deliberately reinforced the iconic golden starlight halo on her head to ensure it wouldn't wobble when shooting various poses. For the wig part, I chose blonde hair strands with a relatively smooth texture. To recreate the character's braided hair, it took me over an hour to coil the braids on both sides so they looked symmetrical and natural. The large black-and-white polka dot bow is the finishing touch; pinning it on the side modifies the head shape very well. In terms of makeup, incorporating a summer feel, I used a large area of pink blush, applying it not only on the apples of the cheeks but also across the bridge of the nose and around the eyes, creating a cute look that feels like a sunburn or a gentle flush. For the eye makeup, light brown colored contact lenses were a must, and light pearlescent highlighter was used on the lower eyelids to increase the innocent look of the eyes. To recreate elf ears, I wore custom-made resin ear pieces, which fit very snugly when viewed from the side. For the clothing, I chose this light pink halter slip dress, featuring a bow on the chest and ruffled hem designs, creating great layering when walking. The pink heart-shaped necklace around my neck was also a detail I deliberately matched. The bat wing props on the back are actually a bit heavy, but for the shooting effect, I tried my best to make them look lighter through angle adjustments. Wearing a pair of yellow clogs on my feet actually echoed the color of the little yellow duck in my hand. During the shoot, to match the little yellow duck prop, I tried kneeling and standing poses. The kneeling posture can showcase leg lines very well, and combined with the blue fabric on the ground, it creates an illusion of being by the water. The yellow duck in my hand wasn't just a prop; it also made the actions more natural—whether holding it with both hands or supporting it with one hand, it could present Ibuki's playful and cute state. Because the venue lighting was quite harsh, I used a softbox and reflector for lighting, trying to make the facial lighting even while preserving skin texture. The entire shooting process was a process of continuously adjusting details: the position of every small prop, the arc of the hair, and even the wrinkles of the skirt hem were all aimed at accurately recreating Ibuki under the summer beach. This shoot is not only a restoration of the character's appearance, but also an attempt to capture that limited-edition summer coolness and joy, hoping to present the most vibrant and lively frame.
