[Amagi cosplay] Azur Lane Amagi Seaside Photoshoot: Amagi Swimsuit Edition

For this seaside photoshoot, we chose the Amagi swimsuit look from Azur Lane. The coastal wind and waves turned out much stronger than anticipated; gusts kept blowing the wig and animal ears around, requiring constant hand adjustments. The outfit is a black halter-neck bikini styled with red piping and stitching, accented by metallic gold hardware. The black choker around my neck features an embedded red gem with a long cascading gold chain beneath, adhering closely to the character's design. The plush animal ears atop my head served as a centerpiece of the styling—brown on the outside with a white inner lining—paired with long straight dark brown hair and blunt bangs for instant character recognition. The makeup emphasized blue eyes and red lips, aiming to convey Amagi's calm, gentle grace.

Shooting by the ocean puts lighting and facial control to the ultimate test. To avoid harsh overhead noon sunlight, we intentionally waited until after 4 PM. With the sun slanting downward, the crashing waves provided depth to the background. In the first half-length portrait, a wave broke right behind me; to steady my balance against the surf, I instinctively crossed my arms loosely over my chest, angling my body slightly and looking off-camera, which also shielded my eyes from the direct sea wind. The second shot faces the lens directly with a hand resting near the neck. In high winds, balancing natural expressions with clean body lines requires engaging the core while dropping and relaxing the shoulders to prevent a stiff posture. Walking across soft sand makes footing unstable, so finding balance was necessary every time I shifted positions. Sunscreen touch-ups were continuous throughout breaks, as seaside UV rays are no joke. Despite challenging conditions, seeing the organic ocean textures and warm sunlit skin in the final images made all preparation and on-site adjustments well worth it.
