[Amagi cosplay] Azur Lane 9th Anniversary, Wedding Dress Amagi Side-by-Side with You

Putting on this wedding dress, I actually felt a bit nervous inside because Amagi's elegance and dignity are engraved into her very bones, while the Bride version of her adds a layer of softness and anticipation. This shoot happens to coincide with the Azur Lane 9th Anniversary, so choosing this theme serves as a special commemoration.

Let's talk about the costume first. The material and sense of layering of this white gauze dress truly surprised me. The outer layer is a type of semi-transparent light gauze adorned with fine pearls and lace trim. The exquisite small black bowtie at the neckline paired with the white lace choker perfectly captures Amagi's temperament of being both authoritative and a bit sweet. The sleeves feature a loose, sheer gauze design that naturally drapes when lifting hands, yielding a very weightless, breathable feel. The animal-ear headpiece was specially customized; the plush texture is highly realistic, and it's not particularly heavy to wear on the head, adapting perfectly to the hair accessories. The cluster of light purple flowers on the side of the hair counts as a gentle embellishment in the overall pure white styling.

In terms of makeup, this time I specially emphasized the pink smudging of the eyeshadow and the elongation of the eyeliner, wanting to recreate that trace of trace-less laziness and allure at the corner of Amagi's eyes. The lip color selected is a very natural peach shade, which won't appear too aggressive paired with the overall white gauze look. When shooting with my partner, we were constantly adjusting the sitting postures and hand movements—when holding the bouquet, the finger pressure must be gentle to avoid deforming the petals; the curvature of the crossed legs also needs to be natural, avoiding looking stiff just to chase a visually elongated effect. These details might not be apparent in the photos, but we truly tried repeatedly many times on set.

Regarding the theme of a wedding dress cosplay, I feel it isn't just purely about being "good-looking," but more about the creation of an atmosphere. The set was filled with white light gauze curtains, and the racks alone took a long time to set up. Light pierced through the thin gauze, making the whole person look extremely soft. The photographer kept reminding me to let my gaze wander slightly, carrying a hint of elusive gentleness, because Amagi's composure of "being able to walk side-by-side with My Lord" in the game is precisely delivered through this plain yet resolute gaze.

I was actually quite tired after finishing this set because I had to constantly maintain an upright sitting posture, but seeing the final photos made me feel it was entirely worth it. Especially the second picture—the position of the bouquet, the curvature of the arms, and the lines of the crossed legs count as a highly satisfying capture of both the overall composition and demeanor. I hope this Bride styling allows everyone to see Amagi's more life-like, gentler side beyond her gorgeous ship rigging.

By the way, I also brought two other looks to alternate shooting that day, but the one closest to my heart was still this white gauze. The moment I put it on, I truly felt my mood became particularly calm and devout. The 9th Anniversary is a highly special milestone, and being able to interpret a beloved character in one's own way is inherently a very happy thing. Not chasing perfect post-processing; photography should originally retain genuine light, shadows, and moments.

Lastly, I want to say that the charm of cosplay lies in the fact that everyone can touch the character using their own understanding. The promise of companionship in Amagi's lines is perhaps the most moving, unchanging core among so many different styles.
