"Commander, where are you looking?" This opening line directly captures Tashkent's intrinsic personality and immediately pulled me into my shooting state at the bustling Changsha Anime Convention. Bringing Tashkent cosplay to this convention was a very special challenge for me. This character embodies both ice-cold aloofness and a hint of provocative cheekiness, so in both makeup and body language, I did my utmost to recreate that contrasting charm.
Let me share some styling details of this shoot. The core costume is a black camisole bodysuit accented at the neckline with silver-grey-blue crisscross straps and unique metallic lines, paired with a black leather choker featuring a gemstone pendant; the overall tailoring is sleek, crisp, and form-fitting. To fully embody the character's visual image from Azur Lane, I donned a long curly light-purple wig with a subtle bluish gradient, topped with a black mini top hat adorned with lace ruffles and trims as the finishing touch. For the lower half, sheer black pantyhose in this Black stockings cosplay paired with glossy patent leather high heels—especially that iconic flash of red on the soles—easily caught the eye under the flashes on set.
The convention venue was a vast industrial-style exhibition hall, where dense overhead light arrays paired with the glossy, reflective greyish-black floor posed quite a test for the photographer's light control. We intentionally laid out a pure white plush faux-fur rug as a ground prop: on one hand, it eliminated messy reflections from the floor; on the other hand, this soft, bright white rug created a powerful chiaroscuro contrast against the black outfit, making the character instantly pop within the frame.
Facing the camera, I deliberately varied my poses. The low-angle upward shot in Photo 1 is a personal favorite: the photographer lay flat on the floor to find this tricky angle, which, combined with a wide aperture, elongated the leg lines and highlighted the texture of the sheer black stockings in this Black stockings cosplay. Coupled with the glossy reflections of the patent leather heels, it instantly channeled the character's signature rebellious edge and haughty confidence. In the seated photos—such as twirling hair ends or glancing back over the shoulder—I softened my expression, letting my gaze carry a relaxed, languid nonchalance to make the character feel vivid rather than rigidly staged. Lastly, the full-body standing photo incorporated two ultra-long trailing white plush ribbons adorned with recognizable black heart patchwork; gently raising my hand to let the sleeves flutter added a sense of dynamic extension across the frame for these Convention photos.
Walking in high heels all day in a convention environment is genuinely exhausting, yet I maintained an upright, poised posture to deliver the best possible presence to the lens. The post-processing for this set leaned toward realistic grading without excessive blurring filters, preserving natural skin textures and the fine flow of the wig strands, as everyone appreciates authentic costume details. Attending the Changsha Anime Convention was wonderful—fellow creators and attendees were exceptionally warm and welcoming. Shooting in such a creative atmosphere was deeply motivating, inspiring fresh personal insights into interpreting and showcasing this Tashkent cosplay.
