This photoshoot for August von Parseval's formal dress was chosen at a retro bar. The bar's lighting naturally carries a low-key warm-yellow texture, which perfectly matches the tone of this outfit. To present a good effect, I made many adjustments in makeup, styling, and shooting poses.

Wearing the wig and headpiece is the first step. The purple long hair needs to be combed to have a sense of layering, and when the mechanical-feeling black-and-silver headpiece is clipped above the ears, it must be ensured that it won't slide due to the amplitude of movements. The sharp horns on both sides of the top of the head need to be slightly tilted to showcase that haughty temperament. In terms of makeup, the red smudging of the eye makeup was heavily emphasized, and the eyeliner was elongated to make the gaze look more penetrating.

There are many details in the clothing. The silver sequin miniskirt features a fine glittering feel, and the silver jewelry and high-neck design at the neck have relatively high requirements for the shoulder and neck lines. The cutout area on the chest is cross-connected by fine silver chains, requiring extreme care when putting it on and taking it off. Adjusting the position of the chains allows the overall shape to present the best visual effect. The white plush shawl has a very strong sense of volume, instantly enhancing the aura once put on, but it is also easy to block movements, so I need to constantly pay attention to the opening angle of the shoulders. The high-slit design is one of the highlights of this formal dress, matched with glossy stockings. Constant minor adjustments between sitting and standing postures are needed to ensure that the leg lines extend naturally without appearing stiff.

The shooting of Figure 1 adopted a pose leaning against the bar counter, with one hand resting on the edge of the bar counter and the other holding a wine glass filled with amber liquid, legs slightly bent and stepping on a bar stool. This posture can well showcase the waistline and the draping feel of the skirt hem. The sitting posture in Figure 2 is the focus of the entire shoot: sitting on the dark wooden bar counter, legs crossed and falling naturally, with one hand gently lifting the skirt hem. This action perfectly showcases the glossiness of the stockings, with the legs presenting a soft reflection under the warm light. The photographer utilized a large aperture and overhead lighting to make the character's skin texture and the dress's sequins stand out in the dark-toned background. Figure 3 incorporates the interaction with the Maidly chick plush toy, holding a silver tray with both hands and slightly lowering the head. This kind of prop with a sense of contrast can add a bit of friendliness to the picture.

The bar environment provides many background elements that can be utilized, such as diamond-patterned walls, neatly arranged wine bottles, wooden wine barrels, and retro square pendant lights. The warm-color LED strip of the wine rack formed a great rim light behind the character, stripping the character away from the dark background. During the shoot, the photographer and I constantly communicated about the position of the light. Because the silver reflective material easily overexposes under the flash, a multi-light setup was adopted, utilizing softboxes and ambient lights to ensure the restoration of details. Before every shutter click, I had to check whether the hair strands were messy, whether the chains were straight, and whether the flow of the plush shawl was natural enough.

Overall, after the shoot, the texture of this formal dress was well presented under the bar's lighting. From the placement of props and adjustment of lighting to the freezing of postures, every step was repeatedly confirmed. Seeing the atmosphere jointly created by the wine glass, fine wine, and Maidly in the finished photos, it feels like all the preliminary preparations were completely worthwhile.
