[Momomiya Ichigo cosplay] Strawberry Sweetheart from Tokyo Mew Mew

In shooting this Momomiya Ichigo cosplay set, I focused mainly on restoring every detail. The costume is made of a glossy Pink color scheme material, requiring careful attention to reflections during shooting to maintain the purity of the overall tone. Because the fabric is somewhat stiff, a petticoat was used to support it, better presenting the three-dimensional flare of the skirt. The neck bell, tail bow, and red long boots with garter rings on the legs are all highly recognizable elements of the character. For hair and makeup, I wore pink contact lenses, with eye makeup blended primarily in pink and red tones, elongated eyeliner to enhance that anime elven charm, and blush applied under the eyes and across the cheeks to bring out her playful spirit. The short pink wig required trimming and heat styling to achieve a well-layered, voluminous look.

We chose a solid-backdrop photo studio with high-key lighting output, giving the whole frame a consistent, luminous Pink color scheme. To preserve costume texture under strong lighting, the photographer adjusted reflector angles so highlights on the dress remained crisp without blowing out. We used a standard lens for full-body shots and switched to a medium-telephoto lens for half-body close-ups and facial expressions. For posing, I tried various postures: standing, sitting, and leaning forward looking back over the shoulder. Standing required adjusting balance, leaning slightly forward to elongate leg lines; sitting focused on displaying the arm sleeves and expressions; leaning forward looking back showcased the dynamic flare of the skirt and the contour of the tail on the back. Wearing cat ears and a tail for this Cat ear cosplay requires constant attention to ensure they remain stable without tilting. Beyond body postures, eye expression and a subtle smile are essential to capturing the character's spirit. I made sure to steady my breath before each shutter click, keeping a confident smile and gaze. Once fully geared up, the glossy material felt slightly restrictive when moving, requiring constant readjustment of the skirt hem and boot collars between takes to keep the outfit immaculate.

In terms of costume details, dark red gloves paired with red boots and choker created a sweet-yet-cool visual aesthetic. The black tips on the cat ears and black leg bands cleverly anchored the large expanses of pink, preventing the palette from feeling overly frivolous. From choosing this character and prepping the outfit to coordinating with the photographer and makeup artist, the entire journey deepened my connection with the character's design. To ensure the glossy dress looked ideal in color temperature and exposure, we did numerous test shots to calibrate color balance. Post-processing relied primarily on color grading, skin retouching, and liquefying—boosting skin translucency while preserving natural skin texture, with a slight contrast bump to accentuate the glossy fabric sheen. Overall, this Girl photography project retained the character's original cuteness while adding a dreamlike ambiance through high-key lighting. Though exhausting over the long studio session, seeing the results take shape made all the pre-shoot preparations and on-set adjustments completely worth it.

During breaks, I carefully checked makeup details; since high-key lights can make heavy makeup look cakey, a clean and lightweight base makeup was used. The materials for the cat ears and bell were also carefully selected to match the premium quality of the costume. During shooting, I communicated with the photographer to convey not just cuteness, but also the vibrant energy of the heroine. This reinterpretation made this Cat ear cosplay feel like a deep dive into the character's charm. Furthermore, among all the poses, my favorite was the over-the-shoulder look, as it perfectly captured both the dynamic movement of the cat tail and the tension of the flared dress.
