Today I'm diving right into the shooting details of this Blue and white plaid Lolita dress. The dress overall features light blue and white color-blocking, adorned with multiple layers of lace and ruffles across the bodice and skirt hem, tailored in a fluffy A-line silhouette. Underneath, I layered a crisp white shirt finished with a deep navy bow at the neckline. To complement the overarching cute aesthetic, I styled my hair into twin tails, accessorizing with a blue-and-white headband accented with fluffy plush elements, paired with delicate heart-shaped pendant earrings.

For the makeup, I opted for a clear, translucent base; the eye makeup was grounded in earthy tones with subtle fine shimmer. Blush was applied slightly higher on the cheekbones to impart a healthy, rosy complexion. The photoshoot setting was an indoor room with a wooden windowsill, looking out onto lush greenery and brick walls. Around two or three in the afternoon, the sunlight slanted gently through the window, making for ideal windowsill photography. The first photo was shot through the glass pane, capturing mirror reflections and atmospheric halos; photo two shows the result after opening the window, with cleaner and more transparent light. The wooden fish prop was prepared beforehand, tied with hemp rope to serve as an interactive item in hand, which effectively prevented any hand stiffness.

Regarding posing and nuances, to accentuate the leg lines, wearing White stockings was essential. However, shooting in White stockings requires extra caution because rough surfaces can easily snag the fabric; therefore, when perching on the windowsill, I extended my legs forward as much as possible with pointed arches, visually elongating my proportions. Leaning the upper body slightly with relaxed shoulders and keeping a soft gaze—looking directly at the lens or slightly off to the side—enhanced the gentle mood.

For post-processing color grading, the main goal was to preserve the warm texture of the sunlight. I slightly bumped up the contrast between the blue and white tones to make the Blue and white plaid pattern crisper, while desaturating ambient yellow tones to tilt the overall atmosphere toward a refreshing feel. As for the shot with glass reflections, I didn't deliberately eliminate the glare, instead embracing that hazy, dreamy veil through the glass.

Regarding shooting precautions: under strong backlighting or side-backlighting conditions, always remember to add fill light to the face, or else facial shadows will become too heavy. I placed a diffuser board in front, keeping the facial lighting soft rather than harsh. When pairing White stockings with this kind of short Lolita skirt, be mindful of seating angles to prevent wardrobe malfunctions—wearing safety shorts is definitely best. The plants on the windowsill can be lightly blurred using a wide aperture as foreground, adding visual depth. The coordination between the outfit and the scene is exceptionally harmonious; pairing White stockings with the Blue and white plaid pattern looks remarkably clean and pure under the sunlight. When shooting similar themes in Girl photography, trying interactive props instead of just sitting statically will dramatically boost your hit rate for great shots, making every movement lively and natural.
