Just finished this shoot at Wulingding Image Club. While sorting out the photos after coming back, looking at the images on the screen, all kinds of fun moments from this offline event still echo in my mind. Many thanks to @YONGNUO and @Wulingding Image Club for providing this excellent Cosplay creation opportunity, allowing me to perfectly bring the character I had conceived for a long time during the preparation stage into a real-life setting.

The goal of this shoot was very clear: to capture that highly recognizable temperament of the character, which lies between laziness and majesty. Since the venue itself is a very atmospheric Japanese-style garden—with dry landscape, white gravel, wooden porches, and large areas of meticulously arranged cherry blossom trees—these elements, with the assistance of Yongnuo's photography lighting equipment, presented a very soft and dreamlike light and shadow texture. To keep the frame clean and pure, I deliberately avoided heavy and harsh fill lights, combining natural light with diffused soft light to make the entire environment quiet and gentle.

During the shoot, I specifically chose a soft and lightweight pink wig, paired with light purple colored contacts to emphasize the depth of the eye makeup. The makeup didn't use overly heavy colors, preserving some of the skin's natural texture, hoping to showcase more translucency in front of the lens. The red and white gradient color scheme on the costume is very layered under the light, especially the wide white outer robe and the long-sleeved overlapping collar structure. Paired with specially made gold and blue elemental hanging ornaments, I am quite satisfied with the overall completion, especially the subtle patterns on the sleeves and the white tassels, which are highly dynamic when moving.

Here I must mention the venue props prepared by the host. The wooden steps and dark red window frames created a very strong sense of immersion. There are several shots of walking barefoot on the white gravel and black stepping stones; the slightly cool touch upon stepping on them actually relaxed my entire body, helping me enter the character's state better. I myself am not good at overly rigid posing in front of the camera, preferring to interact with the props in the scene. For instance, touching the cherry blossoms on the branches, or gently leaning against the door frame, trying to use some casual and natural movements to convey this character's trait of being slightly mysterious yet approachable.

During the shooting process, the photographer (which is me!) put a lot of heart into controlling the light and shadow as well as scheduling the lens. To capture that dynamic feeling of a gentle breeze blowing through the hair and tassels, as well as that expression in the eyes that quietly watches all changes without losing gentleness, we tried the shutter back and forth no less than a dozen times. In fact, for this kind of cosplay outfit that includes complex accessories and multiple overlapping layers, the biggest fear during a shoot is that the folds of the clothes or the angles of the headpiece are not well adjusted, but today everything went quite smoothly throughout the entire workflow.

Another very interesting point about this costume is the layered strap design around the waist, combined with the side that exposes large areas of skin on the shoulders and arms, as well as that customized black and white totem motif painted on the upper arm. It possesses both the dignity of a Japanese kimono and the crisp, clean feel of modern tailoring. Speaking of the specially matched red anklet, it served as a great embellishment in the barefoot shots. Stepping barefoot on solid wood flooring is indeed a very special experience, perfectly fitting the character's original ethereal and natural tone. Whether it was the lighting technician, the stage hands, or the various logistical support provided by the host, everything was amazing.

As a creator who frequently engages in cosplay photography sharing, I've always felt that photography is not just about recording appearance, but more importantly, about expressing a soul and atmosphere. This shoot made me feel the professionalism of Yongnuo and Wulingding Image Club in terms of equipment and venue support. Whether it was the restoration of the lighting color temperature or the composition of environmental portraits, it significantly enhanced the final output quality of this set of photos. Today's work can also be counted as a small practice of mine in the Genshin Impact Creator Incentives Program. The process of capturing the character's core charm is charming in itself, and being able to exchange insights on how cosplayers can better integrate into scenes with friends who also love portrait photography through lens language is a very meaningful thing.
