Capturing this black feather Dark style cosplay look for Shenhe, the concept throughout the shooting process was actually very clear: using black, white, and gray with a touch of red to enhance the cool and slightly sharp visual experience. For the makeup and styling this time, I specifically chose short silver-white hair and used a black sheer headpiece to wrap the edges, expressing the character's aloofness through the massive contrast of black and white. The ruby choker on the neck and the red tassel on the right hair accessory are crucial highlights. Combined with red eyeshadow and lip makeup, they pull the visual focus to the face within the dark tones, preventing the overall look from feeling dull.

The tailoring of the outfit really tests one's figure. The top features a waist-baring, form-fitting design, with detached sleeves on both sides enhancing the tension of movements. The lower half is an overlap of multi-layered black tulle and lace with exceptionally high slits, giving the skirt a strong flowing feel when walking. The rose vine embroidery details on the Black fishnet stockings paired this time are a real bonus, combining a sense of luxury with the character's tough temperament. It not only offers layered visual effects but also shows excellent texture under the studio lighting. To echo this black skirt, the shoes chosen are black stilettos. The touch of dark red exposed on the soles and sides is a very clever little detail, perfectly highlighted when taking off the shoes to pose at the end.

The props used during the shoot were a fairly weighty katana and broken pillars. In the first photo, the pose of stepping on a short pillar with the sword resting on the shoulder focuses on elongating the lower body lines while displaying the imposing presence of wielding a weapon. The glowing white magic circle underfoot was set up on the background floor in advance. Combined with lighting in post-production, it creates a fantasy battle atmosphere without needing excessive special effects. Sitting on the wooden chair in the second photo focuses on showing a lazy yet confident side. Holding a red and black flower in one hand, the lines of the relaxed leg muscles and the details on the stockings are captured clearly. In the third photo, I took off my high heels, placed them on the short pillar to the left, and leaned against the broken pillar with my legs dangling naturally. At this moment, the vine patterns on the legs and the slits of the black skirt splice together, brilliantly displaying the styling tension of the character in different states.

The studio lighting used this time was very clean soft light. The translucency of that light hitting the silver hair and black tulle was excellent, ensuring the layers of embroidery and lace on the clothes weren't washed out. The presentation of the texture truly aligns with the Dark style cosplay concept. However, this outfit has many overlapping layers, and coupled with the weight of the greatsword and stone pillar props, it was actually quite physically draining toward the latter half of the shoot. Especially when posing while stepping on that stone pillar, I had to constantly adjust my center of gravity to ensure the angle of the sword and the drape of the skirt. You could say every movement required some control over muscle strength—looking effortless on camera while enduring the physical strain.

Although the overlapping props and clothing made the range of motion quite limited, it was precisely because of this that it became easier to get into that cold, detached character state. Having finished shooting this look, my biggest takeaway is that a dark style truly suits this type of slightly ruthless character. The restraint in color actually gives the character's aura more room to shine.
