[Odette cosplay] Genshin Impact Doujin Look: Ice & Snow Blue-and-White Photoshoot

Preparing and shooting this Odette cosplay series from Genshin Impact took quite a lot of thought. The overall visual tone was set in a blue-and-white color palette, aiming to capture that cool, aloof yet dreamily gorgeous atmosphere.

Let's start with the wig and makeup. The wig features ice-blue long curls, styled with braided overlapping techniques paired with metallic hair accessories to secure the shape. The makeup avoided heavy eyeshadow, opting instead for a translucent base paired with light-blue contact lenses and elongated eyeliner to make the gaze look both soft and commanding. In terms of accessories, the heart-shaped ruby pendant on the chest serves as a visual highlight of the costume, crafted with a reflective finish that shines brilliantly under the studio lights.

The costume design heavily emphasizes asymmetrical beauty. The off-the-shoulder and backless cut places high demands on the neckline and shoulder posture, so I specifically intensified my posture training during the prep phase. Splicing white plush trims with feather adornments adds lightness to the entire outfit, which, combined with golden hems and blue-and-white fabric, evokes a regal courtly vibe draped in frost and snow.

We prepared several sets of poses during the shoot. My favorites are the shots sitting on the draped podium cloth. The textured blue fabric, complemented by the deep-blue backdrop curtain, accentuates fair skin and makes the White tights cosplay look even crisper. Wearing white tights and golden high heels with legs bent across the fabric showcases leg lines while preserving the sweeping visual extension of the dress.

Another prone pose leans more into casual interaction. Nestled between blue bouquets and the golden sofa, relaxing the body slightly and resting my cheek on my hand effortlessly brought out a cozy, languid mood. In this posture, the deep-blue translucent stiff tulle beneath the skirt hem provided excellent flared support.

Standing poses were essential for showcasing the outfit in its entirety. When extending my hand in Photo 3, the asymmetrical sleeve details are clearly visible—one arm wears a long white glove while the other features a dark strappy arm sleeve. For the single-leg standing and arm-raising pose in Photo 4, I deliberately chose a wide stretching angle that not only elongates visual proportions but also beautifully reveals the heart-shaped waist ornamentation and the open-back design.

The shooting environment was a constructed studio set, where the vintage golden wingback chair and deep blue fabrics created a vivid warm-cool contrast. This clash of high-saturation colors placed high demands on straight-out-of-camera rendering, so during post-processing, we fine-tuned the color temperature to retain the crisp blue cool tones while keeping the skin looking naturally translucent.

To fit the theme of "lonely winter draped in snow," I avoided making the image texture overly airy, instead subtly crushing the shadows and accentuating highlights to give the scene a serene winter stillness. Naturally, the White tights cosplay served as a major bonus for the entire look, bridging the skirt's fluffiness and drawing the visual center of gravity down to the leg lines when paired with golden strappy heels.

In composition, the photographer thoughtfully left ample negative space, allowing my body language to resonate with the blue flower arrangements in the background. Pairing cool-toned floral arrangements with the character's blue-and-white palette truly immerses viewers in the role.

There were many little episodes during the shoot—for instance, keeping the skirt's tulle voluminous meant it easily creased during shifting poses, but fortunately, the final results met all expectations. The ice-blue hair color and crystalline hair accessories made the character look even more exquisite and translucent. This is precisely the charm of Anime-style photography: transforming 2D flat designs into living, breathing representations before the lens.

I truly love the contrast between motion and stillness across the final images. Rather than overly dramatic posing, I preferred expressing the character's serene yet powerful presence. While white tights and off-the-shoulder cuts demand strict body control, finding a comfortable angle makes capturing a natural, relaxed stretch effortless.
