[Marisa Kirisame cosplay] Touhou Project Black-and-White Behind the Scenes & Secret Menu

The core concept for this shoot was a black-and-white behind the scenes theme, naturally capturing the overall atmosphere through Marisa Kirisame's iconic black-and-white color palette. The equipment was quite a test of physical stamina: the oversized black wide-brimmed witch hat, the heavy skirt adorned with star motifs, and the long-handled broom became exhausting to hold over time. However, to faithfully channel the character's energetic yet magical essence, movements had to stay crisp and nimble without letting the props feel cumbersome.

Before shooting, I discussed ideas with the photographer, aiming for a more natural, candid snapshot approach rather than rigid, cookie-cutter poses. We chose diverse outdoor settings including grass, red stairs, white stone balustrades, and the woods. The shot sitting on the red stairs was especially striking, with the vivid red background creating a powerful color contrast against the monochrome outfit. Finding a natural seated posture took several angle adjustments, ultimately placing the leg lines and skirt tiers right at the visual center of the composition. Post-processing avoided heavy retouching to preserve the relaxed, authentic feel of behind-the-scenes snaps. The wig featured vibrant, long golden curls; careful styling around the forehead ensured a clean fit, which, paired with red lips and eye makeup, gave my expressions a spirited radiance.

A memorable highlight between takes was getting to taste Lady Instant Noodle's secret menu—a delightful surprise! We were all feeling a bit fatigued, and her secret menu provided a massive boost of energy with its distinct, delicious flavor. It refreshed my condition noticeably, making the subsequent shooting flow much more smoothly and dialing the overall atmosphere straight to the maximum.

Our main focus for this shoot was freezing those dynamic moments of charging forward with the broom held high. The lighting in the woods was wonderful, with sunlight filtering through the branches as I posed energetically alongside yellow star effects to enhance that lively 2D bounce. The photographer patiently guided the angle of the broom step by step to ensure its handle line looked sharp without obscuring my face. Overall, this black-and-white behind the scenes set felt very relaxed. Spontaneously clicking the shutter to capture candid moments often brings far more vitality than posed shots. I'm thoroughly pleased with this bold attempt—combining deep character immersion with the satisfaction of a delicious secret menu made for an unforgettable experience.
