Today was the Fate / Fate/Grand Order day at the convention sessions, and I did a Nero Cosplay. Originally, I planned to shoot some slick flash-step action clips, but because the movements were too intense, I ended up throwing out my back and could only crouch on the ground. The biggest achievement of today's convention sessions was filming videos until my lower back gave out; all the flash steps and footwork left me drenched in sweat, hurting so much that I was stuck squatting on the floor, and Gilgamesh nearby actually rushed over to pound and massage my back—truly tragic yet hilarious.
I really didn't expect that we'd form an impromptu Fate/Grand Order group for this session, and the synergy was surprisingly seamless. We initially just wanted to shoot some casual behind-the-scenes clips, but ended up filming far more comedic skits and gag videos than serious content. Photo 1 is a selfie with another cosplayer—huddled close together holding the phone, looking so cheerful. Photo 2 is today's solo close-up: the red-and-white dress, gold shoulder aiguillettes, stand-up collar design, along with the white corset bodice and pearl embellishments, all boast incredible texture. I specifically layered and trimmed the wig today, pairing it with amber contacts and slightly heavier eye makeup to give my gaze more commanding presence. Posing with one hand resting at my neckline, I love how the lighting hits my collarbones and the gold trims of the dress; the low-cut neckline also flatters the neck and shoulder contours nicely. Photo 3 is a posed story recreation on-site: Gilgamesh pointing a prop sword at me while I kneel in Nero's skirt with my back to the camera. Because flash steps heavily test core strength and lower-body explosive power, exerting myself without warming up properly caused my lower back muscles to seize up completely, leaving me squatting on the floor to ease the pain.
The costume details this time were crafted with great care: the crimson robe features gold piping, the white underlayer has subtle jacquard patterns and pearl buttons, and the sleeves feature transparent lace cutouts. The overall tailored fit is wonderful, though you have to watch your range of movement. Shooting outdoors for this session provided plenty of natural light; despite sweating profusely, my makeup held up remarkably well without fading. Everyone in our impromptu Fate/Grand Order crew was so outgoing, researching poses and discussing shot storyboards together. Even though my back acted up from the shoot, the whole shooting atmosphere was genuinely fantastic. Seeing me crouching on the floor in agony, the Gilgamesh cosplayer came over specifically to rub and pat my back—a moment everyone dubbed today's best gap-moe. While flash steps look cool, I strongly advise against doing them repeatedly without a thorough warm-up; I am living proof of what not to do. Over the next couple of days, I'll probably need pain relief patches and plenty of rest. Hope you all enjoy today's Nero Cosplay look and red-and-white dress!
