[Marisa Kirisame cosplay] Touhou Project's Magician Flight Pose

This time cosplaying Marisa Kirisame from Touhou Project, the visual focus of the entire styling rests entirely on this oversized bonnet. To allow the hat to sit steadily on the head while presenting a fluffy ruffled effect, skeletal support was built inside. The wig was chosen in a bright blonde large-wavy curl, matching a black lace headband to wonderfully recreate the character's traits. In terms of makeup, emphasis was placed on enlarging the eye proportions, paired with red-toned circle lenses to make the gaze more focused, while also layering the eye-shadow treatment to enhance the 2D anime feel.

For the costume portion, this dress features extremely rich layering. The outer white tulle and golden floral embellishments exhibit prominent texture against the pure black background. The ruffles of the skirt hem propped up a gorgeous curve due to the use of stiff tulle. The brown small leather bag paired at the waist is a nice embellishment, breaking the monotony of an all-white look. The legs are dressed in pure white over-the-knee stockings paired with black platform Mary Jane shoes; this pairing visually elongates the leg lines, and thanks to the physical height increase of the platform shoes combined with a specific bent sitting posture, it showcases the texture of the White stockings and leg curves quite well, while also fitting the overall dress style.

When shooting this photo set, to highlight the subject and props, a pure black backdrop cloth was chosen, and relatively strong rim lighting was applied to make the character pop out from the background. In terms of poses, this levitating posture was attempted, which requires tensing core strength, and the angles of the bent and crossed legs are also very particular, aiming to express a sense of lightness while highlighting the contours wrapped by the over-the-knee White stockings. Regarding props, the witch's broom and the nearby floating Octagram-furnace-like device are iconic elements of this equipment. The tail brush of the broom has great texture, while the floating prop adds a fantastical feel to the frame.

Throughout the entire shoot, a lot of time was spent on costume organization and action capture. Although a pure black background looks simple, actual shooting demands extremely high requirements for lighting; slight miscontrol will cause the clothing details to blur together. Especially the tulle material requires softboxes and highlight placements to achieve a translucent feel. During post-processing, the layered texture of the dress's tulle was deliberately retained without over-smoothing, instead strengthening overall sharpness to make the blonde stray hairs and the edges of the White stockings clearly visible. Although this styling features massive skirts and hats, matched with over-the-knee stockings and platform shoes, the overall silhouette still appears remarkably neat. Being able to materialize such a magical styling and capture this frozen-in-time effect was a physically demanding yet deeply exhilarating shooting experience.
