The theme of this shoot is Shimoe Koharu's ward rounds time from Blue Archive.
Set in a pure white studio backdrop, the overall vision was to present a clean, bright, yet delightfully sweet strawberry girl presence.
During pre-shoot costume preparations, I deliberately chose a slightly heavier fabric to faithfully recreate the tailored structure of the Nurse cosplay uniform, ensuring it stayed crisp and held its shape impeccably before the lens.
The cutout detail along the neckline and the chest ID badge are signature accents of this look; balancing character fidelity with flattering aesthetics on camera required meticulous care regarding undergarments and body silhouette.
Crafting the red halo prop overhead took considerable effort. To ensure its color remained vivid under strong studio lighting without exposing seams or mounting hardware, the edges were repeatedly sanded and adjusted, utilizing an acrylic core support coated with highly saturated red paint.
The wig was trimmed into twin-tails; pink fibers easily blow out beneath cool white lighting, so I coordinated closely with the photographer to preserve specular highlights while maintaining rich tonal gradation in the shadows.
The combination of White stockings and pink garter straps served as an ideal visual balance within the pure white environment, adding layered detail to the lower silhouette without clashing with the overall color harmony.
For seated poses, crossing or extending the legs best flatters leg lines, so I tested several angles on the round stool—such as crossing my legs in profile in the first photo, which visually elongated body proportions.
In the second photo, raising both arms while dipping my head with closed eyes was intended to convey a slightly languid yet guarded state; projecting this tension demanded a tight core and was surprisingly tiring physically.
The primary challenge during the session lay in maintaining posture while synchronizing facial expressions with the lighting; dipping the head easily risks looking stiff or casting heavy facial shadows, but thankfully the soft lighting on set captured natural, delicate nuances.
We shot for about two hours in total, rotating through two or three scenic setups, all revolving fundamentally around this white cylindrical stool.
The blue medical clipboard set to the side functioned as the sole cool-toned prop, creating a crisp visual accent amidst the sea of white and pink so the composition remained grounded.
Taking off the high heels and placing them aside was also intended to inject a cozy, everyday domestic touch.
In post-processing, I refrained from excessive skin smoothing, choosing to preserve authentic skin texture to align with that dimensional realism of Anime-style photography breaking through the fourth wall.
The prep work from selecting the wig to the makeup trial took a full week. Koharu holds a remarkably vivid image in everyone's hearts, and I aimed to channel her distinctive essence through these frames. I hope you all enjoy this interpretation.
