When shooting Xiao Wu's Divine Outfit this time, my mind was actually filled with the plot about the sacrifice from the original novel. As the Soft-Bone Douluo, Xiao Wu's growth arc contains so many depictions of sacrifice and protection, and this divine outfit look perfectly fits that sense of transformation from innocence to maturity. The materials of the costume incorporate a large amount of thin tulle and pearlescent fabrics. To recreate the dreamlike and sacred visual effect of the divine outfit, the details on the sleeves and the metal decorations at the waist underwent multiple rounds of patterning.

The wig part adopts a gradient purple-brown tone and features a meticulously braided long side plait. Combined with the rabbit ear headpiece, it looks highly recognizable under the lens without appearing overly heavy. During the shoot, we experimented with cool-toned soft lighting, which, together with the pink flower branches and white gauze curtains in the background, aimed to create that quiet yet ritualistic atmosphere of the Star Dou Forest. For the poses, we chose a half-kneeling, low-angle perspective looking up. On one hand, this highlights the layering of the divine outfit's skirt hem, and on the other hand, it seeks to express Xiao Wu's firm yet gentle attitude when facing her destiny.

The photographer's control over light and shadow was exceptionally precise; the hair strands and the edges of the tulle skirt under backlighting all revealed a subtle glow. With a few starry particles added in post-processing, the entire frame gained a touch of divinity. Honestly, this voluminous skirt hem and long hair tested my physical strength and sense of balance immensely during the shoot, but seeing that elegant, flowing motion in the final photos made all the hardships worthwhile. This work took about two weeks from preparation to the final output. The initial makeup tests and accessory adjustments took up a large portion of the time because the design of the divine outfit is quite complex, requiring us to ensure accuracy while balancing the comfort of actual wear. Although Xiao Wu has many classic looks, I have always felt that the divine outfit version best embodies her sense of destiny as part of the Soft-Bone Rabbit clan. I hope everyone enjoys this visual story of Soul Land presented through camera language, and I look forward to more opportunities in the future to challenge character settings from different stages.
