The location for this convention photoshoot was set in an open expanse of the expo center. The background's exposed metal trusses and gray concrete flooring naturally exuded an industrial aesthetic that resonated seamlessly with the urban post-apocalyptic vibe of Zenless Zone Zero, allowing the final edits to retain punchy chiaroscuro and rich contrast. Costume-wise, this look is exceptionally multi-layered. The top is a red halter crop tank stamped with white N.E.P.S. lettering across the bust, accented with an adorable white critter plush charm at the neckline. It is paired with detached white arm sleeves structured with black strapping and metallic buckles, bearing matching graphic typography at the cuffs. The lower half features a black leather pleated mini skirt embellished with gold stars, blue paneling, and red accents; its multi-tiered waist and pleats required constant smoothing during movement. To complete the ensemble, I specifically opted for semi-sheer Black stockings detailed with black garter straps and cutout motifs, matched with black platform ankle boots lined with pink piping, white laces, and fuzzy white pom-poms on the sides to echo the skirt's color scheme. Around my neck sat a black leather choker. The blonde hair was styled into intricate braids flowing into twintails accessorized with plush pom-poms and black hair clips, complemented by red-orange contact lenses, a playful snaggletooth smile, and deepened crimson eye shadow at the outer corners for rich, readable detail up close.
Regarding props, to faithfully recreate the character silhouette, I prepared a voluminous white tail crisscrossed with black harness patterning, alongside a signature polearm weapon in black, pink, and yellow. Securing the tail required careful engineering to integrate it seamlessly into the waist belt, demanding conscious awareness of its swaying arc during takes to keep it from appearing stiff or awkward before the lens.
For posing choreography, I explored varied stances to display each segment of the wardrobe. The frontal standing pose in Photo 3 presented full-body proportions cleanly; crossing my legs lengthened leg lines while holding the polearm horizontally across my body expanded the frame laterally, balancing the sheer texture of the Black stockings with the upper torso curves and garment details. The single-leg lift in Photo 2 injected kinetic energy, though maintaining balance heavily tested my core strength as the pleated skirt fanned out naturally in motion. Photo 1 moved into a close-up crop focusing on facial micro-expressions and upper-bodice craftsmanship, using interactive hand poses to bridge intimacy with the lens. Dialing in these center-of-gravity shifts and arm placements on set took considerable trial and adjustment.
As for hair and makeup maintenance, long blonde synthetic wigs tangle easily, demanding constant brushing between takes. Crown volume is the soul of the silhouette, requiring heavy support from hidden clips and firm-hold hairspray. For makeup, because expo ambient lighting is notoriously harsh, the foundation had to be immaculate so the high-saturation graphic eye makeup registered crisply on camera. Chaotic overhead hall lighting frequently cast unflattering facial shadows, so the photographer continuously repositioned fill lights, relying on reflectors and softboxes to sculpt dimensional facial contours. Overall, this look demanded immense care in textile mixing and prop coordination, balancing physical action with skirt drape through endless on-the-spot calibration. Seeing the finished frames capture this tactile polish makes the entire creative process genuinely fulfilling.
