I finally sorted out part of this Blue Archive Misaki dress photoshoot from the World Line Anime Convention. Recreating the details of this styling took far more effort than expected. For makeup, pairing the cool-toned blue hair with bright blue contact lenses meant blending a hint of red at the outer corners of the eyes and drawing thick, winged black eyeliner to convey that aloof, enigmatic gaze.

Regarding the outfit, the black lace halter top was quite unforgiving to the silhouette. The black bow at the collar needed to be tied meticulously to avoid looking bulky. Two blue roses at the waist served as the perfect finishing touch, echoing the hair color seamlessly. The lower half consisted of a poofy black tulle pleated skirt paired with semi-sheer black stockings and platform Mary Janes. Walking all day across the convention floor was exhausting on the feet, but completely worth it for the flattering proportions on camera. The convention venue was crowded with a cool ambient palette, so the photographer used a wide aperture to blur out the background and make the subject pop cleanly.

Posing and deportment were the most critical factors for this character. Because the black skirt fabric was relatively heavy, poses needed to avoid looking stiff. Subtle gestures—such as gently grasping hair while glancing back or folding arms while resting a hand on the chin—expressed her calculated wit and effortless elegance. Despite the sea of convention passersby and glaring spotlights, I quickly settled into the groove. Carrying such a substantial dress and platform shoes while constantly keeping leg lines sharp was truly a test of physical endurance.
