Let's start with the costume: Cyrene's white dress features abundant intricate details—the diamond-shaped chest ornament, the blue-to-purple gradient skirt hem, paired with the pink wig and elf ears—putting it all on cleanly took quite a bit of time. The skirt hem was heavy; holding the skirt's arc without collapsing during the shoot made my arms sore for a long time. My partner cosplayed Phainon; his long white coat and blue cape paired with golden pauldrons gave him a remarkably crisp silhouette against this starry sky backdrop.
To capture the tension in our clasped hands, we readjusted our positioning and eye lines multiple times. I tilted my head down slightly while he looked down from diagonally above, keeping arms extended yet natural to evoke that fateful feeling of entrusting the world to one another. We employed a Naked-eye 3D compositing approach this time, which meant leaving ample background space during initial shooting and creating stereoscopic depth through layered post-processing. Selecting the starry sky backdrop took time, ensuring meteor effects and starlight accents matched the mood. Because this was a hybrid of on-location and studio shooting, post-production required rotoscoping both silhouettes and unifying light sources so the lighting on the characters blended seamlessly with the ambient starlight—a true test of patience.
Under the grand setting of Omphalos, I specifically studied the character's personality before the shoot, striving to convey that serene, ethereal yet powerfully divine aura. In post-processing, beyond tinting the starry sky deep blue, we intentionally enhanced costume textures—such as the translucent quality of the tulle skirt and the specular highlights on the metallic pauldrons. Although the process was intricate and tedious, seeing the final finished photos made everything worthwhile. The entire shoot was a relentless grind with costumes, postures, and lighting, all to visually deliver the most faithful representation of this setting.
