This cat girl look for Yukimura Chieri cosplay features a navy-style sailor uniform and white over-the-knee socks, with an overall bright and refreshing color palette. The silver-gray texture of the wig presents a soft reflection under natural light, and the cat ears on top of the head along with the plush tail behind add to the character's vividness. The shooting location was chosen on a fabric sofa in an outdoor courtyard. The green plants and sun umbrella in the background provided an excellent natural light environment while adding richer color layers to the frame.
During the shoot, I tried several different sitting postures and actions. The first set is an elegant side-sitting pose, with hands naturally overlapping and the gaze directed diagonally upward, which brings out a bit of laziness and curiosity. The second set involves stretching both legs directly forward, leaning the body ahead, and placing both hands near the toes; this angle elongates the leg lines while making the cat girl posture look more playful. There is also a set of half-body close-ups where I raised both hands to make a cat-claw gesture, paired with a slightly tilted head and a subtle pout, instantly bringing out that tsundere yet cute atmosphere unique to a Cat girl.
In terms of lighting, I intentionally kept a few backlit frames. The sunlight hitting from the side-rear created a beautiful rim light around the edges of the hair strands and the fuzz on the cat ears, resulting in a highly translucent effect. However, the main featured photos still used front-side lighting, ensuring the clarity of facial expressions and the restoration of costume details—especially the blue-and-white stripes on the collar, the three-dimensional feel of the bow tie, and the stitching on the skirt were all captured very clearly.
The material choice of the costume for this cosplay was also crucial. The fabric of the sailor uniform is relatively stiff and less prone to wrinkling, which, paired with the metal fasteners of the suspenders, gives the overall look a very premium texture. The white stockings offer great wrapping without appearing bloated, forming a sharp color contrast with the dark blue skirt. To stay closer to the original setting of this Anime girl, I also matched it with a black choker and a slender ribbon bow; though these small accessories are inconspicuous, they often elevate the overall completion.
Although outdoor photography deals with variable lighting, the advantage is a relaxed and natural atmosphere. Compared to indoor studio lighting, I actually prefer this real environment with wind and greenery, making the character in the photos feel as though she truly lives in a small courtyard on a certain afternoon. Throughout the shooting process, I was constantly adjusting the amplitude of my movements and the position of my hands, trying my best to make every snapshot look relaxed and unforced. The few cuts selected this time feature both aesthetically pleasing compositions that suit public tastes and playful angles with personal touches, hoping to convey the lively vibe of Yukimura Chieri.
