[Gokou Ruri Cosplay] Purple-eyed Black Cat, the Heroine Who Refuses to Be a Foil

This black dress with a dark-patterned jacquard weave, paired with white lace trim and a bright blue bow, looks exceptionally layered in the pure white studio. The long straight purple hair with straight bangs and the red-eyed makeup look were the top priorities of my preparation this time. The black cat ears accessory and the thick, long plush cat tail behind me make the character's silhouette more three-dimensional in the frame. During the shoot, a white cylindrical pedestal was specially chosen as the main prop, as the clean background highlights the character's color contrast better.

In terms of pose design, the first photo selects a naturally relaxed sitting posture, where the forward-extended legs paired with light gray tights perfectly elongate the body proportions, beautifully showcasing the skirt hem and texture details. The second photo adopts a cat-claw pose, looking back and leaning forward while making a scratching motion, attempting to present the playful yet slightly aggressive agility inherent to the character, while the highly arched cat tail adds a sense of movement.

Before the shoot, the wig was meticulously combed to avoid messy tangles during the process. The red-colored contacts paired with the red makeup around the eyes are indeed highly conspicuous under the lights, bringing my overall aura much closer to the character. Dressed in this outfit, I can better appreciate the phrase mentioned in the posts, 'Not a foil to the siblings; you are my heroine' from My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute. This character herself possesses a highly powerful subjective consciousness and decisiveness; she is no one's dependency, but rather independently and confidently takes charge of her own life.

Although the pure white background uses minimalist lighting, it actually poses a great test for the clothing fabric texture, wig layering, and makeup translucency. We tried several different light positions on-site, ultimately choosing an effect that could illuminate the entire silhouette without causing the black jacquard to lose its original texture. The entire shooting process went quite smoothly, taking a few hours from preparation to completion, and the final prints managed to firmly grasp the temperament blending Gothic Lolita style and Cat girl elements.

This cosplay photography experience has given me a deeper understanding of this character, going beyond faithful restoration in terms of costume, makeup, and props to convey that independent yet unpresumptuous demeanor. Whether through the quiet sitting posture or the agile glance backward, everything is an attempt to display the tsundere yet straightforward traits of this character. I hope this set of photos can fully present my understanding of this character's image in my mind.
