[Eula cosplay] Genshin Impact: Aloof Sword Dance by the Fountain

The motivation for this shoot was simple: to capture a powerful, dynamic photo set using the mist of the fountain and natural backlighting. Because it was quite windy on the day of the shoot, the skirt and cape were difficult to control, so we simply worked with the wind, letting the cape billow back to ride the momentum. The greatsword prop had a forward-heavy center of gravity, demanding significant arm strength to swing; I was constantly tweaking my grip angle to maintain optimal balance in this Genshin Impact Eula cosplay session.

Prior to shooting, I was actually quite worried about my expression control and physical poise. The photographer was incredibly patient—to find the ideal angle, he stood straight into the water, repeatedly coaching me on adjusting my center of gravity and head tilt, guiding me on using side-backlight to chisel out facial lines and hair contours. Although I kept saying my expressive range was lacking and felt somewhat numb during the shoot, seeing the Photography delivery was truly breathtaking. The cool-toned water droplets and the Black stockings paired with bright shoes gained immense visual tension against the dynamic fountain spray.

As for the garment fabrics, the translucent sheer chiffon and the leg straps possessed wonderful luminescence under backlight, which required constantly adjusting my position to prevent the fabric from tangling or clinging awkwardly. On the post-processing side, the photographer's editing was stellar, not only balancing light and shadow contrast, but also meticulously refining the spray droplets to make the overall ambiance purer.

Since the fountain is dynamic, shutter speed control was paramount—retaining the silky motion blur of cascading water while ensuring crisp focal clarity on the subject. In terms of perspective, low-angle upward shots visually elongated leg proportions, working with the sheen of the Black stockings to highlight the character's sleek silhouette.

Moreover, because the choreographed actions included specific martial poses like side over-the-shoulder glances and raised-arm stances, maintaining balance while holding heavy props was a serious physical workout. Achieving such results in this TFP photoshoot owed much to a stroke of good luck, alongside the photographer's guidance and retouching prowess.

My biggest regret remains that my facial expressions weren't relaxed enough; looking aloof or battle-ready still felt slightly stiff. Overall, however, the location's advantage paired with the costume's rich texture made this the closest attempt to my ideal vision yet. It serves as a great record of this fountain shoot in the rain—thanks to everyone who helped on-site, and immense thanks to the photographer's lens capture, this photo set was truly saved!
