On the second day of CICF 2026, I cosplayed the Genshin Impact Ice Queen. The October heat in Guangzhou was still sweltering, making this ice-blue gown—complete with a white faux-fur collar and heavy headpieces—a serious test of endurance. The pale purplish-gray wig was styled in advance; to fit the elf lore, orange pointed prosthetic ears were glued to both sides of my cheeks, causing noticeable tension over time. The blue cosmetic contact lenses looked gorgeous, though they slightly narrowed my field of vision, demanding extra caution while walking. The geometric diamond-grid pattern on the dress and the jewel ornaments across the bodice radiated rich tactile textures under outdoor light. For this set, I deliberately paired white patterned Stockings (pantyhose) with chunky platform heels. Navigating a bustling convention in high heels was an immense challenge, but to elongate leg proportions and match this opulent gown, I gritted my teeth and pushed through.

For outdoor shooting, photographer NightDiva brought location strobes, and we searched for relatively clean backgrounds across the plaza. One sequence involved sitting on a folding stool with one leg elevated resting on the seat and the other draping down naturally. This pose required sustained core engagement to maintain balance while keeping the back, shoulders, and neckline elongated, all while directing an icy, aloof gaze toward the lens. Another set was shot seated on a white plush blanket with legs extended forward, maximizing the framing of leg lines and the Stockings' woven pattern while fanning the train across the steps to enhance spatial depth.

For the final frame, holding an iced drink from Mixue Ice Cream & Tea broke through the Ice Queen's unapproachable aura, playfully echoing that famously affectionate jingle: 'You love me, I love you.' The convention was packed, and wearing this outfit drew frequent onlookers; moreover, the fur collar kept slipping, requiring constant readjustments. The blue gem prop on the chest and the golden scrollwork on the skirt bounced brilliant specular highlights under the fill light. Posing demanded not only managing the garment's silhouette, but also strictly reigning in facial expressions to project the regal chill of an ice-themed sovereign.

After a full day of shooting, the wig had become frizzy and my heels were rubbed raw. Yet seeing how the highlights played across the gems and the commanding presence radiating from the ensemble made every meticulous preparation truly worthwhile.
