A portion of the Convention photos from yesterday's Ryoga anime convention Spring Festival have finally been retouched. This Iuno cosplay costume took quite a long time to prepare. The outfit features an overall white-and-gold color scheme; to recreate that sci-fi yet divine texture from the game, I repeatedly adjusted the materials and spray paint on the breastplate and gold waist pieces to ensure they would cast that metallic sheen under convention lights. The wig is a gradient blue with lighter tips, and the feather ornaments on top needed careful securing to keep from slipping off while walking around.

The twin tails on my head carry quite a bit of weight because they were styled for that airy, floating look. For this shoot, we chose a semi-outdoor zone at the Ryoga anime convention; this setting features the gray-and-white tones of modern architecture, which melded seamlessly with the sci-fi aesthetic of Iuno's outfit. The giant golden ring prop behind me serves as the visual core of the entire set. To capture a floating effect, we tested various postures; I had to cross my legs mid-air without support and maintain equilibrium while gesturing into spellcasting stances with both hands, demanding immense core strength. In this set, I really like the side-seated pose, which flatters the leg lines and the garment's hemline nicely. The white straps wrapped around the calves and ankles look very stylized, but walking on outdoor ground made them loosen easily, requiring constant adjustments between takes.

In terms of post-production visual effects, blue crystal shards and glowing particles were composited to restore the game's fusion of starry skies and magical energy. Blue orbs float around the subject, paired with ground reflections under a cool-toned color grade; I specifically asked the retoucher to preserve the bright gold highlights of the outfit so the overall image wouldn't look flat. Those suspended crystal props didn't exist on set and were painted in post-production stroke by stroke, including the blue light waves on the ground designed to echo the golden ring in the background.

The biggest difference between Convention photos and studio shoots is how hard ambient light is to control. The lighting ratio between the indoor and outdoor areas was quite stark that day, so we chose angles that avoided cluttered crowds, scouting this clean gray-and-white wall and slatted ceiling to borrow soft natural light. To deliver that weightless, buoyant sensation, I kept my core engaged the entire time, leaving my back sore afterward—yet seeing the final results made it feel entirely worthwhile. The costume's design accentuates the figure beautifully, with the chest cutout and shorts combo being classic 2D staples; to keep everything balanced, I extended my body lines as fluidly as possible to project an aura both enigmatic and charmingly playful.
