[Kanna cosplay] Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Rainy Day Classroom photo Daily Record

This shoot features Kanna from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (Kanna cosplay), set in a vintage classroom marked with traces of time (Classroom photo). The weather was overcast and rainy; outside the window, green foliage blurred by raindrops created an oil-painting-like backdrop. Indoors, the wooden walls, desks, and green chalkboard combined with this natural lighting to evoke a very tranquil atmosphere.

To align with the character's persona, hair and makeup specifically emphasized the crystal clarity of the eyes. The light purple wig paired with white horns, a baby-blue Peter Pan collar long-sleeve top, and White stockings below aimed to recreate her soft, adorable, and slightly childish charm. During the shoot, the doodles on the chalkboard background were hand-drawn by me with chalk; while not overly elaborate, the rainbow and heart motifs brought a lovely fairy-tale storybook flavor.

The shoot schedule that day was fairly standard, mainly capturing subtle candid gestures. Photo 1 shows me holding a comic book with both hands covering my mouth, gazing into the lens. Photo 2 shows me sitting sideways reading, zoning out while watching the rain outside the window—aiming to capture that spaced-out student vibe. Photo 3 features hands folded on the desk resting my chin, looking straight at the camera. All these poses were discussed with the photographer beforehand to keep posture as natural as possible. Personally, I feel Photo 1 has the best composition, as it showcases not only the face and upper body but also the leg lines and White stockings with natural leg contours, making it ideal for the cover.

Since Kanna is a character who loves to eat and leans a bit languid, expressions shouldn't involve smiling too forcefully; expressions need restraint, and the eyes should look slightly blank, appearing as if dozing off or lost in thought. The studio we found in Guangzhou matched expectations nicely: the wooden desks were just the right height, and preparing comic books, math notebooks, and erasers alongside cool-toned lighting made the overall Classroom photo visuals feel crisp and translucent.

As a model, I feel that for characters rooted in a 2D setting, hair texture and costume details are paramount. The White stockings and dress silhouette were very comfortable without being constricting, so shooting all day didn't feel exhausting. Because it was approached from an everyday perspective, the shoot avoided overly flamboyant staging, staying much closer to that nostalgic student-life atmosphere.
