The time clock at the Teyvat Secret Pavilion was punched by me again today. The weather in Snezhnaya is truly freezing, but under the studio lights for this mechanical gauntlet and outfit, I still worked up quite a sweat. Today's cosplay is Jahoda's look; since it coincides with the wage-earner theme, I really wanted to fuse that workplace grind with the character's distinct charm.
Many friends ask if shooting this set was exhausting. Honestly, the props were genuinely heavy—especially that massive metallic gauntlet on my right arm. We built a weight-reducing internal frame, but holding poses for extended periods was still a serious test of arm endurance. The motifs across the gauntlet—those pink and blue stars and hearts—were hand-painted by me stroke by stroke against canon references, ensuring it carried the heft of solid metal while delivering a cute touch of contrast. To embrace this blend of machinery and 2D aesthetics, we scouted an indoor set steeped in wasteland and steampunk elements.
The green neon tubes and red oil drums in the background, paired with industrial corrugated metal walls, accentuated the black-and-gold textures of the costume flawlessly. The goggles and cap perched on my head were the soul accessories—not only adding visual layers, but also shielding my eyes from harsh, direct studio lights. For wig styling, I preserved the signature side braids paired with blonde short hair, evoking lively spunky energy. For makeup, the focus was placed on sharpening eye contours and adding subtle redness across the cheeks, striving to reflect an eager, driven state despite being a tired working girl. With ambient background lighting quite dim, I directed the photographer to cast the key light onto reflective metallic surfaces to bring out the garment's rich textures.
The wardrobe details are thoroughly intriguing: a white-base top with black piping, gold buttons, and a red-and-blue brooch, with the decorative waist straps tidied up to keep the overall silhouette sharp. The lower half features gray shorts paired with white over-the-knee socks and black strappy ties, which not only visually elongated proportions but added the fierce edge of a battle maiden. During shooting, to capture varied moods, I tried confident hands-on-hips stances, forward-reaching interactive gestures, and relaxing cross-legged atop an oil drum. Without flashy CGI effects, the natural interplay of light across leather and metal looked magnificent. While shooting that third cross-legged pose, maintaining balance while arranging the drape of the cape and ensuring the leg straps didn't dig in too tightly took careful tuning.
Daily life in Genshin Impact means your heart is out adventuring even while stuck at a workstation. This photo set served as a refreshing tonic for my working life; fusing hobby with routine always makes time fly. While the cosplay process is elaborate, the moment I saw the finished photos, all the fatigue vanished into thin air. Every time I portray a Genshin Impact character, it feels like shattering the dimensional wall. Jahoda's palette and mechanical design truly shine in an industrial scene bathed in neon glow, perfectly echoing Snezhnaya's cool-toned industrial lore.
