[La Pluma cosplay] Arknights Coral Coast Swimsuit: Seaside Holiday Log

With summer drawing to a close, I finally teamed up with Ziyou to schedule this Arknights La Pluma Coral Coast Swimsuit cosplay shoot. The outfit had been ready for quite a while, but various delays kept pushing it back, and I realized if we didn't shoot now, summer would be completely over.

Let's talk through the wardrobe ensemble first. La Pluma's Coral Coast skin centers entirely on refreshing coolness: an oversized light-blue jacket slipping casually off one shoulder, layered over a cropped white athletic sports tank top and light-wash denim cutoff shorts. To stay true to the skin's original design, I handcrafted a green lanyard fitted with a yellow whistle and an ID badge, which, alongside the blue-green accents around the neck, instantly channeled the aesthetic of a seaside beach lifeguard. The twin mini top-buns paired with white and yellow hair ornaments faithfully recreated the in-game illustration's nuances. For makeup, I steered clear of heavy palettes, opting for a clean, luminous base with a lively pop of blush and pale-toned contact lenses to evoke an effortless, natural glow under summer sun.

The set was an indoor studio we built ourselves, featuring a blue-and-white striped backdrop, beach lounge chairs, a parasol, and several blue-and-white inflatable swim rings. The floor was lined with reflective material to mimic the shimmering, sun-dappled surface of ocean water. Even indoors, we brought in potted greenery and watermelon props to maximize that authentic summertime ambiance.

The shooting process was remarkably relaxed thanks to the casual set dressing. The photographer encouraged me to unwind as if genuinely enjoying a seaside getaway. In Image 1, seated on the beach lounger with one hand resting on my thigh and the other framing my cheek, biting down on the yellow whistle, I kept my gaze intentionally lazy and relaxed. Crossing my legs in this seated pose turned out wonderfully photogenic—it elongated the silhouette, highlighted the waist and leg lines, and combined with the off-shoulder drape of the jacket to add rich visual depth.

In Image 2, I changed postures to kneel atop an inflatable swim ring with one hand framing my face, creating a sweet, dainty silhouette. Because the cropped tank exposes the midriff with slight arm movement, it effortlessly captured the breezy lightness of the Coral Coast design. During the session, I chased spontaneous, unscripted moments—like tugging at the jacket hem or fiddling with the neck lanyard. In Image 3, sitting nestled inside the swim ring, I offered a subtle wink to the camera, which felt completely aligned with La Pluma's subtly mischievous charm.

While shooting on a real outdoor Summer beach offers natural sunlight, an indoor studio allows for precise, granular control over light and shadow without battling scorching heat that causes squinting or melting makeup. I set the base makeup with extra setting spray, as wearing a long-sleeved jacket under continuous studio lighting tests foundation longevity. The yellow whistle and green lanyard were major highlights; in Image 4, clasping both hands behind my head while blowing the whistle unlocked an effortless ease, with crossed legs keeping the pose soft and dynamic.

Overall, this photoshoot served as the perfect closing chapter to this summer. In every cosplay journey—from selecting fabrics and building props to choreographing poses with the photographer on set—it's a fresh exploration of the character. La Pluma inherently carries an earnest, slightly innocent demeanor, yet this Coral Coast attire unlocks another side of her personality; before the lens, I strove to embody that weightless, unguarded ease. Reviewing the returned photos made all the preparation and waiting profoundly rewarding. I wonder which pose everyone likes best—personally, I'm quite fond of the shot sitting on the chair blowing the whistle.
