[Theresa Cosplay] Strolling Through Arknights Under Nightfall, Recording This Tranquility

Trying to recreate this Theresa look required a lot of thought from early preparation to the final photo set. When picking the wig color, I specifically searched for this silver-pink with gradient layers, and trimmed the bang length to better fit the setting. The pair of reddish-brown horn ornaments on top of my head paired with black bows needed multiple adjustments to secure in place, keeping them straight during shooting and preventing shifts in center of gravity.

For makeup, the focus was on eyeshadow blending using reddish-orange tones, outlined with slightly sharp eyeliner to make my gaze appear deeper. Compared to bright, cheerful scenes, I felt this dark-toned style better suited the mood of this look, so I intentionally restrained my facial expressions and kept my eyelids lowered.

Regarding costume, I selected this richly layered white dress, where ruffles and pearl decorations at the neckline added a lot of detail. The black velvet gloves at the cuffs created a very strong visual contrast with the white clothing. The bouquet in my hand was specially prepared, consisting of white flowers paired with yellow-green leaves and stems, adding visual weight while introducing a splash of vitality to the frame.

The highlight of the shoot lay in the lighting setup: we used a strong focused side-backlight and smoke cakes to create ambient atmosphere. When light pierced through the smoke and struck the edges of my hair and clothing, that rim light looked beautiful. Smoke on the right side of the frame was illuminated by the light, contrasting starkly with shadows on the left, giving the image strong visual impact. During shooting, I deliberately kept my body relaxed and looked down toward the bouquet; this posture of not looking directly into the lens created a quiet nighttime vibe. The whole Cosplay photography process underwent many micro-adjustments in lighting, trying repeatedly to capture the flow of smoke in different directions.

Although the background of this set is very dark, with the assistance of side-backlighting, the layered folds of the white dress were displayed even better. The strong light didn't overexpose the clothes, preserving the fabric's texture instead. The black gloves stood out prominently in the frame, seamlessly merging into the background while accentuating the elegance of my hand postures. The placement angle of the bouquet was also well thought out, facing flowers and leaves toward the light source to enhance directionality and vitality.

I did plenty of homework before shooting. Since this character exhibits a quiet yet firm demeanor in the lore, the pose design didn't pursue exaggeration, but rather aimed to convey a gentle strength. Holding the bouquet with black gloves in a dim environment felt like it could truly calm one down. Even without complex movements, static Anime cosplay images often convey emotion more effectively. Post-processing involved only minor color tweaks, primarily preserving the raw photo's high contrast and rim highlight texture. While the overall tone leans cold and dark, the brightness of the character and flowers was properly highlighted.

For recreating Anime cosplay characters in this high-contrast lighting style, it heavily tests early coordination between makeup, costume, and photography. Although wearing a complex dress and adjusting skirt hems and accessories took considerable time, all the effort was worth it for the final photo quality.
