This set of Arknights La Pluma cosplay photos is finally ready, shot as a special birthday gift for Rafaela herself. The shoot was scheduled at an industrial-style location with stacked flight cases in the background, aiming to use this cold, metallic texture to accentuate the atmosphere of the character's Tactical techwear and gear.

I put a lot of thought into the hair and makeup. The black-and-gray wig was layered with precision. Instead of standard black eyeliner, the eye makeup featured a wide wash of reddish-pink tones, attempting to create a contrast of coolness with a touch of surreal beauty. Because the venue's lighting was harsh, overhead light shone straight down, casting deep shadows across the face and body, which paradoxically highlighted the cool-toned ambiance even more.

Costume, makeup, and props were key highlights of this shoot. The tactical vest on the chest has numerous layers secured with Velcro and buckles; putting it on and taking it off was quite a hassle, but it looks incredibly textured once worn. The thigh straps and tactical leg pouches were adjusted repeatedly to fit snugly without squeezing the skin. In particular, the black platform tactical sandals on the feet, paired with the lines of the leg straps, visually elongated the leg proportions nicely. There is also the cape with holographic reflective material that reflects iridescent colors in the breeze, breaking the monotony of the large black areas.

The long blade and mechanical tail props were very heavy. To pull off the pose of straddling a flight case while shouldering the weapon, I had to constantly find points of balance—where to support my hands and how to relax my shoulders required extensive trial and coordination with the photographer on set. The true charm of this character lies in the contrast between her quiet, focused exterior and wielding heavy weaponry. To capture that demeanor, I tried cool, stoic looks toward the camera as well as relaxed side-sitting poses, favoring high-angle downward gazes that make the character appear calm and composed.

Over the past few years, the way I celebrate my birthday has gradually changed. In the past, I always wanted lively parties, but now I prefer completing a photoshoot I am satisfied with, gifting what I love to myself. On set, everyone helped carry props and tidy up wind-tousled hair, and I also received desserts from friends—all of which made me feel fulfilled. As the shutter clicks ceased, this photoshoot came to a close. Portraying La Pluma was a joyful experience, and I hope this moment of precision and toughness remains frozen in time.
