[Theresa Cosplay] Happy Birthday Arknights, Presenting This Commemorative Photoshoot for Theresa

Posting this set of photos on Theresa's birthday feels incredibly fitting. This Theresa Cosplay look took quite a bit of energy from its initial confirmation to its realization, and today she can finally appear in front of the lens in her original image.

When making this costume, the primary focus was placed on restoring the garment's structure. The body of the dress is a smooth white fabric with an excellent drape, paired with a black high-collar inner layer and layered cuffs; the overall stark black-and-white color scheme is highly classic. The black cloth straps and leaf decorations on the chest were also sewn in strict reference to the setting's direction. The red horn ornaments on top of the head were customized by a handmade artisan, which are lightweight and won't slide off during long photoshoots. The wig's hair color is a gradient transitioning from silver-white to pale pink, and this light-colored wig looks exceptionally translucent under the lighting.

Regarding the setting, we chose a pure black background in the studio to darken the surroundings, which better highlights the character itself. The light blue flowers and Roman columns on both sides are very classic elements. A column on each of the left and right sides forms a symmetrical composition. On the right column head, a metal-textured vintage lantern was intentionally placed, which, combined with the white gauze drapes on the floor, makes the frame look both cool and elegant. During the shoot, the lighting was mainly overhead light and the main front light, which creates a strong contrast between light and dark when hitting the white clothing and hair, instantly bringing out the sense of dimensionality.

Honestly, having played Arknights for so long, my feelings toward Theresa have always been very complex. Everyone always mentions the bunny, the old cat, and Mon3tr (M3). Although I can only appear as a solo character this time, brainstorming scenes of her daily interactions with these Rhodes Island characters during the shoot still feels very heartwarming. She possesses a quiet yet steadfast temperament; when posing, I also tried my best to restrain my expressions and avoid excessive emotional display, wanting instead to convey that composure solely through my gaze and open-hand gestures.

This shoot lasted about four hours. Because the indoor lighting was highly concentrated, it actually felt quite hot after standing for a long time, but I couldn't move around recklessly to keep the clothes smooth and flat. Encountering the issue where the skirt hem tended to bunch up, we could only rely on continuous re-shots to adjust it. In post-production, we didn't do any overly exaggerated color adjustments, trying our best to maintain the original photo's black-and-white cool tones and cool atmospheric feel, leaving out just the blue flower accents and the highlights from the lantern, which was more than enough.

Because she is a character I like immensely, I paid special attention to the accuracy of details when doing this Theresa Cosplay. I feel quite satisfied with the overall final results. Although what everyone sees are just a few frozen moments, the contemplation of the character's temperament and the preparation before and after behind the scenes are all expressions of this love. I'm very happy to take advantage of this special birthday milestone to release this carefully prepared work, freezing Theresa's appearance in this 2D world.
