[Usami Mizuki cosplay] This Art Club Has a Problem!: Discovering a Splash of Bright Youth on Campus

The focus of this Cosplay photoshoot was entirely on capturing the character's vibrant energy and cultivating an authentic school atmosphere. To align with her earnest yet endearing personality within the club, special care was given to the crisp neatness of the costume. The red knit vest over a white collared shirt accented by a blue ribbon bow forms the core of the outfit; the grey pleated skirt and black thigh-highs required repeated smoothing to keep the pleats sharp and ensure the socks never slipped, achieving ideal anime proportions in full-body frames. For hair and makeup, a straight-bang bob wig was paired with her signature rabbit hairpin, while the base makeup was kept light, fresh, and natural to complement outdoor daylight for a clean, refreshing palette.

We picked an outdoor street framed by lush green foliage, using a wide aperture to melt the trees and asphalt into a soft blur. This shallow depth of field made the subject pop remarkably well. In terms of posing, I deliberately incorporated a single-leg flamingo stance while glancing back over my shoulder. This framing elongated leg lines, while bending one knee brought dynamic sway to the skirt and accentuated the visual contour of the socks, harmonizing with the classic cute schoolgirl silhouette. Bringing both hands up to form bunny ears atop my head was another lively touch inspired by her character traits. Throughout the session, I coordinated closely with the photographer to adjust angles, avoiding awkward cropping along the edges so the subject consistently held the visual center.

Post-processing steered clear of exaggerated liquifying or reshaping, focusing instead on harmonizing warm and cool tones while refining skin texture to preserve natural clarity. Serving as warm-up preparation ahead of the Firefly ACG Expo, exploring angles and chasing light in an open outdoor setting allowed me to pose freely and comfortably. I believe this captured a vivid, multidimensional portrayal of Mizuki, reflecting my own personal interpretation and insights into the character.
