This set of photos is the Cosplay photoshoot for the character Misaki from Blue Archive. When researching the character design before shooting, what attracted me most was this combination featuring uniform elements. The overall outfit consists of a light blue short-sleeved shirt with a black tie, a badge on the chest, and white aiguillettes. The lower half features a black tight leather skirt paired with glossy Black stockings and stiletto high heels. To highlight the character's unhurried and slightly commanding demeanor, the shoot took place in a clean indoor studio with a whiteboard, office desk, and chairs in the background, creating an interrogation room or office atmosphere.
The temperature was relatively high on the day of the shoot. Even with the air conditioning on in the studio, wearing a leather skirt was still stuffy and hot, which pushed me to keep my movements as crisp as possible while posing. The photographer mainly utilized high-key lighting, using a large white background and soft light to illuminate the subject, which effectively accentuated the reflective texture of the black leather skirt and Black stockings, making the leg lines look very slender on camera. The main props used were a prop handgun and handcuffs. To handle these props properly, I tried various poses in front of the lens: sitting on an office chair with crossed legs, resting my chin lightly in one hand while looking directly into the camera; squatting on the floor with both hands forward to display the handcuffs on the wrists; and kneeling on the ground with hands cuffed to the chain of a desk leg. These poses required balancing body stability so the leather skirt and high heels wouldn't look stiff on camera.
During the photoshoot, figuring out how to engage the core to control sitting posture and arching the instep to match the lines of the high heels were details that required repeated adjustments with the photographer. For makeup and styling, a reddish lip color and colored contacts with light blue reflections were selected, which, paired with the long blue-black twintails, brought the look closer to the character's original visual features. The overall lighting, the reflections from the costume materials, and the facial expressions came together to achieve a slightly dangerous yet exquisite visual effect. The tailoring of the outfit fits the body snugly; the tight leather skirt, while offering a strong wrapped silhouette, also restricted movement to a certain extent, which conveniently facilitated some focused and slightly vigilant posing expressions. This Cosplay photoshoot documents the complete look of this Female police uniform styling, showcasing the demeanor and temperament of my ideal vision of the character.
