Sitting in the command chair, this Kal'tsit cosplay look was arguably the styling I poured the most thought into for the TapTap Play Festival. Stepping out of the dressing room, the outfit's intricate layers immediately caught many eyes. The primary color tone is an off-white cream, yet the design incorporates substantial techwear elements—such as asymmetrical tailoring, a triangular cutout at the chest, and black harness straps along the waist. The wide choker collar with neon yellow-green accents served as a visual highlight, creating a sharp color contrast under the venue's cool blue lighting.

For the wig, I chose silver-white straight hair with blunt bangs, carefully layering the ends to ensure a natural drape without obstructing my vision. Crafting the animal ears atop my head required the most labor: I specifically shaped and groomed the yellow fluff inside and the black contours along the outer rims so they would appear plush and three-dimensional on camera. For makeup, matching the character's persona, I wore vivid bright green contact lenses and brushed reddish-pink eyeshadow from the outer corners across the eye contour, giving my gaze dimensional depth when tilting my head or glancing upward.

The venue's set design was intensely futuristic, with the walls embedded with multiple glowing blue screens displaying digital data interfaces. To blend into this sci-fi environment, I specifically pulled up a grey wheeled office chair. Posing while seated is tricky—you must keep the garments smooth and unwrinkled while projecting an effortless, unruffled composure. I alternated between resting folded hands on my lap and opening my arms slightly to let the draped, wide cuffs flare out naturally. Because the outer smock and green inner lining are quite long, my assistant helped smooth the hemlines between poses to prevent bunched fabric from marring the visual line.

The lower body styling served as a vital element in building visual depth. Sheer Black stockings paired with black leather thigh straps and metal buckles instantly elongated leg lines. The black heeled booties not only added height, but their folded neon yellow-green collars also harmonized seamlessly with the top's neckpiece. When posing, I deliberately angled my legs, using the high slit of the skirt to let the Black stockings and straps show naturally, enhancing visual extension and sharpening the character's crisp silhouette.

Shooting under the complex lighting of an anime convention was quite a challenge. The ambient blue glow was heavy, risking facial color casts if shot straight on. Thus, I constantly communicated with the photographer, using reflectors to bounce fill light onto my face while preserving the cyberpunk cool tones of the background screens. The costume material exhibited subtle sheen under harsh lights, so we adjusted camera angles to prevent specular glare from ruining fabric textures.

Attending offline events in cosplay is never just about showing off an outfit; it's about connecting with people who share the same passion. At the TapTap Play Festival, encountering so many knowledgeable fans discussing garment details and character lore created a genuinely warm community atmosphere. Enduring the shoot sitting upright in heeled booties and complex attire was physically exhausting, but seeing these Convention photos seamlessly blend the sci-fi backdrop with the character's commanding aura made every bit of preparation worthwhile. Bringing an on-screen figure into reality and resonating with fellow fans in the same space is truly the greatest joy of cosplaying Arknights.
