[Cissia Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero White Studio Photoshoot Log

For this shoot, we opted for a pure white backdrop, commonly known as white studio photography. A white studio is a double-edged sword: because the background is immaculate, tolerance for imperfections on the subject is extremely low. A slightly uneven skirt hem or a shifted corset belt stands out glaringly in the final frame, making pre-shoot prep and continuous on-set adjustments crucial. Pre-shoot hair styling was a massive undertaking; to accurately recreate that twintail structure, I anchored the wig securely, using a generous amount of hairspray to achieve crisp, structured definition. With such thick wig volume, neatening each section took considerable time.

Getting in and out of the costume was equally intricate. Nearly every component relied on straps, such as the detached white arm sleeves adorned with black buckle rings that had to be aligned precisely on the arms. Beneath the pink top, the tight under-corset demanded help from friends to firmly lace up the back for a snug, contoured silhouette. The pairing of the pink top, black corset, semi-sheer black stockings, and leg garters severely tests physical proportions. The leg garters in particular tended to slip with every step, requiring me to bend down repeatedly to adjust their placement, ensuring just the right amount of compression across the thighs to reflect the character's original design.

The most taxing element was the oversized polearm prop. Its length was dramatic and its balance was top-heavy, feeling quite hefty in hand. Attached to the weapon's tail end was a prominent white tail made of soft material that kept drooping toward the floor. To keep it sweeping naturally backward, I had to engage my wrists firmly and lean my torso significantly sideways to counter the weapon's weight. For the standing shots, I went through roughly a dozen attempts before finding a stance that steadily supported the weapon while flattering my leg lines and posture. The platform shoes were another interesting detail; while they elongated my silhouette nicely, they placed extra strain on the ankles, leaving my feet sore after a while.

Compared to standing, the seated poses later were relatively relaxed, allowing for tight crops of the black stockings and leg contours. Sitting on the white studio floor, the photographer adjusted the lighting so side illumination cast a sophisticated sheen over the black stockings, turning the straps and leg garters into the visual centerpiece of the frame. Resting my chin on my left hand with an eye-level gaze and a slight forward lean conveyed both effortless confidence and relaxed ease, which the final two images showcased nicely.

Every shoot with such an elaborate look feels like a battle. You must constantly keep track of hidden pitfalls—never letting the weapon obscure your face, ensuring the corset stays wrinkle-free. Yet watching the camera preview look more and more like the character brings genuine fulfillment. This white studio session was not only a comprehensive showcase of costume details, but also a test of camera presence. Highlighting the visual appeal of black stockings and long legs while preserving the character's bold, heroic flair required non-stop communication with the photographer. Though tiring, producing a finished anime cosplay set with such high completion made every effort well worth it.
