[Cissia Cosplay] A Flash of Pink in the Ruins: Challenging an Industrial Style Setting

I’ve finally sorted through these photos for Cissia, after putting a lot of thought and effort into every step from early prep to the on-location shoot. I've always loved the unique setting of Zenless Zone Zero, blending street style with a touch of techwear. So when recreating this outfit, beyond capturing her hard-edged combat side, I also wanted to preserve the cool yet playful core of her character.

The centerpiece of the outfit is this cropped top featuring a bold pink-and-black color contrast, complete with the highly recognizable \"N.E.P.S.\" logo across the chest. Connected at the collar is a white ring-shaped tube, a piece that adds structural depth to the silhouette while giving the overall look a slightly softer, cuter edge. The bottom half consists of a black zippered leather skirt accented with intricate waist straps and belt buckles, where golden star-shaped hardware catches sunlight with brilliant reflections. The large white ruffled sleeve covers on the arms are paired with black leather straps and metal rings, requiring patient adjustment to find the right tension so underarm folds look natural and clean. Thick-soled black boots with bright pink laces and pom-poms echo the top's color palette, keeping the overall silhouette balanced from head to toe.

For the venue, we found an abandoned industrial workshop. Red oil drums scattered around, rusted wire mesh, stacked worn tires, and stray green military crates naturally brought a rugged wasteland survival ambiance. Graffiti art on the background walls and crisscrossing blue-purple neon tubes harmonized cleverly with the outfit's tones. This stark contrast of vibrant colors bursting out from chaotic, derelict surroundings is precisely what draws me to the world of Zenless Zone Zero. As for props, the golden twisted polearm weapon was an absolute eye-catcher. Its bifurcated tip carries a strong sense of force, requiring core alignment to wield properly without throwing off my balance. Manipulating the white tubing was another fun touch—draping it over a shoulder or letting it cascade down my leg, experimenting with bend angles until it settled into a pose-perfect shape.

During the shoot, we captured several distinct emotional moods for the character—ranging from cool, weapon-touting standing poses to relaxed moments sitting on tires gazing at the lens. I particularly love the sitting pose in Photo 2; black stockings combined with cut-out straps and chunky boots flawlessly elongated leg proportions, looking thoroughly effortless against the Industrial style cosplay backdrop. In the close-up of Photo 3, the photographer used soft-focus fill light, capturing the golden strands of the wig with incredible softness. Red contact lenses added an alert yet composed gaze, making the skin look beautifully translucent. In Photo 5, I switched to a lively, slightly provocative expression, pairing hand gestures with the white tubing prop for an energetic vibe.

Given the complex environment, dust and debris could easily break immersion on camera, yet this inadvertently infused the images with genuine gritty texture and narrative depth. During post-processing, I specifically requested retaining the original neon colors and light-dark contrast without over-filtering or blurring, prioritizing highlights on metallic garment buckles and weapon surfaces. This allowed glossy leather, sheer stockings, and cast-iron netting textures to stand distinct within Anime-style photography. Though the shoot was exhausting—wearing heavy gear and wielding weapons in a suffocatingly hot, un-air-conditioned abandoned factory—seeing this street-wasteland aesthetic come alive made every second worth it. This was my attempt at understanding and recreating the character's core soul, and I hope these photos fully convey the charm I felt in this styling.
