The details of this outfit are truly very rich, from the black flowers and silver tassel ornaments on top of the head to that string of gold accessories and white drapes at the collar, all requiring careful position adjustments when putting them on. This black halter dress is made of a glossy satin material, and the tailoring at the neckline and chest is a real test of how well the shoulder and neck lines can stretch out. To match this temperament that is elegant yet slightly cold, I specially chose this short black wig with strong layering, giving it a slight inner-curl treatment to make the overall look more vivid and sharp without looking too rigid.

The black semi-translucent lace gloves on the arms are segmented; the separate top and bottom design reveals a small patch of skin during movements, and this looming contrast actually highlights details better than being fully wrapped. The black semi-translucent stockings worn on the lower body have a distinct patchwork boundary, and paired with a pair of patent leather glossy high heels adorned with fine shimmers, it beautifully elongates the leg proportions visually and is perfect for showcasing sitting poses from different angles during the shoot. I intentionally utilized a folding fan as a prop during the session, which serves both as an extension of hand movements and creates a sense of mystery when covering the face or half-exposing it.

For the scene setup this time, a white long-pile plush carpet was chosen as the primary base, complemented by the semi-translucent white tulle cascading behind and a touch of red in the scenery. Along with the wooden frame and white bouquets in the background, the overall color tone is quite clean, which beautifully highlights the black garment and the red-eyed makeup. The photographer @sime_Jc put a lot of heart into the lighting; the use of soft light and side-backlighting made the reflection of the black material very gentle, both preserving the texture of the clothing and preventing overexposure or flat black silhouettes. As mentioned when posting, this set of photos is actually not completely finished yet; I just picked two raw frames or initially corrected versions to post first and see how it looks. In truth, the light, shadow, and composition of the original shots already have a great foundation.

Regarding the grasp of poses, this kind of styling that leans towards a dignified and elegant style isn't actually suited for large-scale or overly dynamic movements. In the sitting pose of the first picture, the body leans back slightly, the legs naturally extend outward, and combined with the posture of holding the fan, the overall look appears relatively stretched and grand, utilizing straight lines to display the contour of the outfit. Meanwhile, the pose in the second picture—sitting sideways and wrapping both arms—appears more introverted and gentle. When conducting this kind of Anime-style photography that combines traditional elements with Western touches, how to use body language to balance seriousness and approachability requires constant communication and adjustment on-site with the photographer.

In terms of coordination with the makeup, the red eyeshadow and colored contacts are one of the key focuses this time. Since the outfit as a whole features a black and gold color scheme, adding a touch of bright color to the eyes can make the visual focus of the entire face more concentrated, preventing it from being swallowed up by large areas of black. Securing the wig and hair accessories is also crucial, especially the silver tassels; if placed incorrectly, they can easily stick to the shoulders when turning the head, affecting the neatness of the hairstyle silhouette. This is why a sufficient amount of time must be reserved before every shoot for wig styling, outfit adjustments, and prop preparation; only when the preparation work is well done can the shooting process go more smoothly.

Actually, what I want to share the most this time is the impact of lighting on black clothing. Many black materials can easily turn into flat black voids or reflect a cheap plastic look under strobe lights. However, the lighting on the set this time was very well controlled; there was both a key light illuminating the face and collarbones, and a rim light outlining the contours of the hair and shoulders. The black tights look under the soft light presents a delicate texture interwoven with matte and reflections, while the surface of the patent leather high heels retains just a small amount of highlight spots, giving the lower body a sense of weight and texture. The photographer also kept reminding me to pay attention to the force exerted by my fingers and wrists—not to grip the fan too tightly, but to relax a bit so that the lines would look more beautiful.

Honestly, the process of cosplay is not just about putting on clothes and striking a pose; digging deep to understand the character's original setting and temperament, and then reifying it through makeup/styling, limbs, and expressions, is an incredibly fulfilling thing. Although this set of photos hasn't reached a perfect state and might still require some fine-tuning on local highlights and color temperature during post-processing later on, I personally already thoroughly enjoy this creative process. I hope when the full version is released later, it can present an even better visual effect.
