[Zenless Zone Zero Yixuan Cosplay] A Touch of Cold Color Under the Courtyard Veranda - Image 2

Straight into the sharing of this Zenless Zone Zero Yixuan cosplay final cuts set. A while ago, I chose a location with a traditional Chinese courtyard style for an outdoor shoot. This set of pictures has just been organized, so let me talk in detail about some insights from this styling and shoot.

First, talking about the costume, this black patent leather textured jacket for the upper body is highly recognizable in the character's look, with white fine pinstripes printed on the surface. Under outdoor light, the patent leather material presents a natural reflection and gloss. The neckline features a pure white pointed collar design, embellished with golden crossed string decorations, and that blue floral badge on the left chest counts as the crowning touch, forming a sharp hot-and-cold color clash with the black patent leather. The cuffs adopt a white three-dimensional structural decorative block paired with black straps; these local details combined with the overall suit-style tailoring provide immense visual weight. The lower body is paired with a white ruffled pleated skirt, wearing black stockings and black patent leather high heels on the legs. Although the shoes are black, the edge of the sole has a tiny touch of red striping as an embellishment; the overall black, white, blue, and gold color palette achieves a relatively high level of restoration for the character's image, making for a perfect Cosplay outfit.

For the wig part, silver-white long hair was used, with the hair strand texture kept relatively fluffy, and a unique black hair accessory fixed at the forehead position. During styling, the hair accessory was intentionally kept upright to avoid collapsing or shifting, aligning with the character's setting. The face makeup chose a cool-toned scheme; the eyeshadow and eyeliner were processed to look deep, and the pupil color was also adjusted to make the gaze look more focused and sharp. Paired with the white hair and fair complexion, it presents a cool yet slightly sharp temperament. The base makeup was also handled lightly and thinly because outdoor light is relatively strong; too thick a base makeup easily looks like a mask, especially under natural light where the real skin texture needs to be revealed.

The shooting time was selected in the afternoon; the light in the courtyard filtered patchily through the gaps in the leaves, offering rich yet uncluttered light and shadow layers. I sat on the stone steps under the veranda, legs naturally crossed, one hand resting near the knee, and the other hand slightly raised to tidy up hair strands. This posture can both beautifully showcase the pairing of the attire and shoes, and fits the character's inherent calm, collected, and comfortable action style. The photographer selected a slightly low-angle camera perspective, utilizing a large-aperture prime lens to blur the background greenery and pillars, completely concentrating the visual focus on the performance of the main subject and the clothing material texture. This is a fine example of Anime-style photography.

From a photography level, actually wearing this kind of patent leather jacket to shoot pictures outdoors, especially when the temperature is high, brings a highly noticeable sultry and unbreathable feeling. Sitting down for just that little while, I could feel a layer of sweat brewing inside the jacket; however, to achieve the best effect for the final cuts, these small difficulties can all be overcome. Before the shoot, I also repeatedly checked the placement angle of the neckline badge and the unfolding state of the ruffled skirt hem to ensure that no matter the camera angle, these key clothing features could be completely displayed without the badge being blocked or the skirt looking messy due to changes in body posture.

Although lacking the precision of directional lighting in studio shoots, the outdoor natural light combined with the original structure of Chinese architecture gave this set of pictures a lifestyle-like and authentic texture, making it feel as natural as if the character herself walked out of the 2D world to catch some fresh air. The difficulty of 2D cosplay lies exactly in how to transform a flat design sketch into a realistic styling with authentic material texture and a three-dimensional feel. From material selection and pattern making to accessory pairing, down to action guidance and light utilization during shooting, every link affects the presentation texture of the final frame. This set of pictures specially selected the combination of black stockings and high heels precisely to elongate the leg lines in a sitting pose, enhancing the overall cool and proud atmosphere. This set took about a half-day from putting on makeup to wrapping up, and I hope the presented effect can achieve a visual match with the character's temperament.
