This shoot was a collaboration with photographer Brave A at the Chengdu Mirror Realm Photography Studio, specifically aiming to capture the charm of Atago from Azur Lane. With the cinched-waist white military uniform, golden button accessories, and the highly recognizable long black hair and animal ears, this entire look completely delivers a visual experience that is both dashing and elegant for an exquisite Anime-style military cosplay.

During the shoot, we mainly wanted to highlight the character's calm and unhurried temperament. In the photos, we experimented with a dynamic combination of standing, sitting, and holding a weapon. The moment of drawing the blade and standing still captured a sharp, fierce gaze, while the natural relaxation displayed in the final sitting pose fits the "big sister" character setting much better.

Since this is for entering the Chengdu Mirror Realm Light and Shadow Contest, I specially emphasized to the photographer how the light and shadow reflect off the uniform. White fabric is actually quite demanding under lighting; the benefit of studio shooting is the ability to precisely control the landing spot of every beam of light, making the golden buttons and epaulets on the uniform shine brilliantly, while allowing the black tights and high heels to form a strong visual contrast against the relatively pure white backdrop, which significantly elevates the completion level of the final work.

The white military uniform paired with sheer black tights perfectly hits the mark for the character's elegant yet slightly aggressive tone. Displaying the scabbard also adds richness to the styling, rather than simply posing rigidly.

From the outfit selection to the movement details, this set tries its best to fit the character's natural daily state. It's not about intentionally flaunting sexuality, but about making the clothes and props an extension of the character's own personality. The uniform's cut is very form-fitting; bending over or flashing a V-sign during the shoot brought a sense of restriction from the suit fabric. Fortunately, Brave A's guidance was spot on and the snapshots were very fast, allowing us to preserve the most natural body language while continuously adjusting our poses.

Huge thanks to Chengdu Mirror Realm for providing such a professional venue. The clean background of the white seamless studio concentrates all visual focus on the model and the outfit itself, free from any distracting clutter. We matched it with high-heeled white shoes and black shoes to echo different looks, showcasing both a crisp side and the advantages of body proportions. During the shoot, we also discussed how to utilize the scabbard prop to avoid looking stiff. Honestly, in this type of Cosplay photography featuring uniform elements, dynamic poses are often harder to grasp than static ones because the outfit itself brings constraint. Only by mobilizing the muscle tension of the entire body to cooperate can you avoid a puppet-like feel. Personally, I absolutely love the final lighting tone of this set—there is both a gentle white and a deep black, perfectly matching the character's temperament of switching effortlessly between tenderness and sharpness.
