This time I'm cosplaying Kiryuu Kikyou from Blue Archive, who is also a tsundere character I really adore. Her blue cat ears and halo are her signature traits, so I brought the full wig and accessory set for this shoot. In terms of makeup, I specially emphasized the pink eyeshadow, hoping to recreate that cute expression filled with a bit of a temper. The shooting location was chosen in a Japanese wooden house; the tatami mats, sloped skylight, and the fan nearby are perfect for cultivating a lazy, daily atmosphere.

To complement Kikyou's kitty setting, a lot of thought actually went into the props. The blue yarn balls and the yarn tangled around my fingers and ankles were the most interesting interaction points of this shoot. We had to be very careful when wrapping it on-site to avoid snagging the fabric of the costume. The sailor uniform is matched with a blue bow tie, and that lightweight blue haori outerwear can spread out while sitting, adding a sense of elegance. Looking back at these photos, I feel that the casual yet slightly tsundere state was captured quite accurately. The detail processing of this outfit is relatively complete, with very clean lines on the bib and skirt hem. As a qualified cosplayer, every time I do an outdoor shoot, I hope to capture some frames with a sense of storytelling on top of accurately recreating the character. The wooden backdrop and light and shadow found this time matched perfectly, and the final photos turned out much better than expected.

When shooting cosplay, especially for a character with emotional tension like this, communication with the photographer is incredibly important so that the frozen moments can possess a touch of real life, rather than just standing there wearing the clothes. I like this set of photos very much myself, and I hope this Cosplay sharing can showcase both the tsundere and the hidden gentle side of Kiryuu Kikyou to everyone through this beautiful piece of Anime-style photography depicting a Catgirl's daily life.
