[Chiyo Sakura cosplay] School Daily Life Under the Spring Cherry Blossoms

When I put on this grey blazer and deep blue pleated skirt, what I wanted to recreate the most was that kind of everyday life vibe in spring—a bit clumsy yet deeply focused. For this set of photos, the makeup didn't deliberately use heavy colors, but rather maintained a natural, clear radiance, matching the orange long hair and the red polka dot patterned bows on both sides to fit the character's appearance traits. In terms of clothing, the tailoring of the blazer jacket, the knotting of the necktie, and the length of the black over-knee socks were all adjusted through repeated fittings.

The shooting locations were chosen at outdoor scenes with a few steps and along the streets, with a huge expanse of pink cherry blossoms covering the background. Our photographer squatted low or stood high, using the metal handrails of the stairs as leading lines to emphasize the character's sense of space in the frame. A few frames holding a magazine or a straight stick-like prop were also meant to add some slice-of-life fun.

During the shoot, we actually encountered many unexpected passersby and wind, but everyone was very cooperative. The weather wasn't too hot those days; whenever the wind blew, cherry blossom petals would fall. Such moments, although we didn't deliberately do any complex poses, appeared very natural instead.

For this type of casual, school-oriented character, there is no need to over-exert in pose control—standing, leaning against a railing to read, or holding a book to block the face, these actions combined with the school uniform outfit itself can create a wonderful atmosphere. I also really like the camera position standing by the roadside, with the traffic warning signs in the background and the grey sidewalk in front, giving off a strong slice-of-life vibe.

Since the tone of the original work is very lighthearted and cheerful, I tried my best to keep my condition relaxed during the shoot, hoping the final frames would remind viewers of those cute little stories happening in everyday school life. Although the photography, makeup, and hair styling look simple, a lot of thought went into the underlying color coordination and lighting design to recreate this unpolished sense of vitality. The tones of the grey blazer and deep blue pleated skirt are relatively subdued, but once the eye-catching orange long hair, royal blue necktie, and prominent red-and-white polka dot bows are added, the visual center of the entire look balances immediately—it doesn't look too erratic, while instantly letting people recognize the core traits of the character.

Waiting for spring to shoot this kind of spring cherry blossom outdoor scene is truly an enjoyable experience. Although we didn't deliberately pursue a gorgeous, heavy-duty set, these natural streets, dormitory door numbers, and stair railings filled the photos with a continuous flow like manga panels. Sometimes we don't need too many complex scenes; just finding a cherry blossom tree with branches growing just right, paired with gentle natural light, can make the density of the photo look incredibly full. I picked up a few fallen blossoms along the way; although they weren't captured in the frame, that emotion stays in my heart forever.

I hope this set of photos can convey that subtle adolescent vibe—those good old times spent daydreaming under a cherry blossom tree with a bit of random thoughts. This kind of slice-of-life photography work, compared to high-energy special effects, actually tests the level of integration with the environment more. Fortunately, this outfit itself is very close to daily life, so walking down the street wearing it didn't feel out of place. I'm very glad to have completed this school-vibe set in such nice weather, allowing this spring "girl's thoughts" to be recorded along with the photos.
