[Yumemizuki Mizuki cosplay] Genshin Impact Dreamscapes & Anticipation for Outdoor Shoots Under the Warm Sun

The temperature on the day of the makeup test was absurdly low. To keep warm, I had to sneak thermal leggings onto my lower half, so I was very mindful of camera framing and cropping angles to preserve the character's visual lightness. This Yumemizuki Mizuki cosplay ensemble features many intricate elements, such as the delicately tinted light blue-violet wig, which required a lot of adjustments on the bangs and hair buns to look sleek and natural. Pointed elf ears paired with tiny purple floral earrings both flatter the face shape and add a touch of fantasy flair. The golden emblem at the bow tie, the sash knot at the waist, and the ruffled trim on the arm sleeves all needed individual styling and smoothing out to maintain a crisp, dimensional silhouette when worn.

I snapped several quick test shots indoors, posing with a uniquely designed round fan, a mug perched with a cute pink critter, and a wooden serving tray for dango—this Cosplay props display greatly enriched the look and brought out the character's inner charm. I have always adored this kind of Japanese-fantasy aesthetic; the harmonious palette of pink, purple, blue, and white feels exceptionally tender, perfectly suited for the artistic world of Genshin Impact. However, compared to a simple indoor white wall, I am looking forward to outdoor floral scenery even more. With the weather in Chengdu warming up, I've already begun planning the specific shoot for a Spring cherry blossom outdoor scene, hoping to capture that ethereal lightness amidst fluttering blossom petals.

This makeup test was not just to verify styling completeness, but also to identify areas for improvement in advance. For example, anchoring the wig clashed slightly with attaching the elf ears, requiring adjustments to the internal wig cap so they could sit together comfortably. Furthermore, the intricate patterns on the round fan face shimmer with varying sheens under proper lighting, adding lovely highlights to the photos. Costume-wise, although it looks lightweight, shooting for a long time in an unheated room still makes it easy to catch a cold. The footwear was also tailored specifically for the character, with a snug fit essential for maintaining an upright, poised standing posture. During shooting, I continuously fine-tuned the harmony between props and poses—keeping my arms steady when holding the tray while ensuring my facial expressions looked natural rather than stiff.

I've always believed that cosplay is never just about putting on a costume, but rather channeling the character's temperament through body language and expression. Yumemizuki Mizuki radiates a relaxed yet slightly mysterious aura, so I strived to express that gentle, subtle smile in these test shots. Judging by the current photos, the indoor posing worked out steadily, and I'm confident there will be wonderful surprises once we head outdoors into natural light. Perhaps in the evening breeze of the cherry blossom season, this light blue hair will flutter beautifully in frame, and combining various props with rich natural environments will breathe fresh vitality into this Genshin Impact cosplay. I'm genuinely looking forward to spontaneous, candid captures rather than rigid poses. The colors and depth of an outdoor backdrop will greatly enrich the storytelling of the images, far beyond a plain indoor wall.
