The Firefly ACG Expo D4 photos are finally ready! Today I'm sharing this Chiyo Sakura look filled with summer and campus vibes.

Before attending the convention, I made a lot of preparations, especially with wig trimming and styling. Since Chiyo Sakura features striking orange-red long straight hair, handling the bangs was crucial—they needed a natural drape while retaining just the right weight over the forehead so that the head's silhouette closely matches the expressive charm in the original work. The pink and white polka-dot hair bows on both sides were also key features. To ensure they wouldn't shift during subtle movements, I used extra hair clips to secure them while preserving the natural extension at both ends of the bows to create a sense of motion in photos.

The location chosen for this shoot was the greenery area outside the venue. It happened to be lightly raining those days, leaving the ground slightly damp with puddles. The cobblestone pathway reflected the surrounding greenery, bringing a pleasant surprise in terms of lighting conditions. The fresh green backdrop suited the character's vibrant atmosphere perfectly. I also brought a clear plastic stick umbrella as a prop, which not only suited the weather on the day of the convention but also resonated with Chiyo's youthfulness on campus.

Regarding outfit selection, the upper half features a classic white shirt paired with a pure yellow V-neck knit vest, with a dark gray ribbon tie chosen to balance the high brightness of the yellow-white base, making the overall color layers more distinct. The lower half consists of a navy blue pleated skirt paired with over-the-knee black socks and shiny loafers. This ensemble was lightweight and easy to walk around in at the anime convention, and combined with a leather shoulder school bag, immediately evoked the feel of Campus JK style.

As for the camera angles and pose design for this photoset, I tried a few different styles. The first pose with a finger pointing to the cheek is highly recognizable, bringing out the character's slightly airheaded yet adorable nature. The snapshot of raising one leg and looking back at the camera is one of my personal favorites, as it not only demonstrated the coherence of the full-body outfit, but the textures of the black socks and shiny loafers were also captured thoroughly from a high angle. Stepping on the damp tiles added a cool, playful touch to the overall image.

The other shots of holding the clear umbrella and making fists with both hands were intended to recreate the exaggerated and quirky, expressive expressions from the anime. The entire shooting process was actually quite relaxed. Although the anime convention was crowded and noisy, as long as we found a quiet green corner and got into character, emotional and physical expressions came naturally. During post-processing, I deliberately refrained from over-smoothing skin or drastically altering environmental color tones, opting instead to preserve the natural, authentic light, shadow, and colors on site to maintain the energetic feel of the original raw shots.

The itinerary for Firefly ACG Expo D4 was extremely fulfilling. Despite the rain, thanks to this costume and the seamless synergy with the photographer, we ultimately captured many satisfying shots. I hope these convention photos allow everyone to feel Chiyo Sakura's innocent vitality, and provide some outfit and posing inspiration for fellow cosplayers planning to portray her in the future.
