[2B cosplay] NieR:Automata Bunny Girl Styling: Fusing White Hair with Patent Leather

This project features a Bunny girl variant styling of 2B from NieR:Automata. The entire ensemble centers on high-contrast monochrome tones: the base top is a white high-neck blouse accented with dramatic puffed sleeves and scalloped lace frills. Layered over it is a glossy black patent leather corset bustier; its plunging lace-up design accented by golden skull and heart-shaped metal clasps gives it a remarkably tactile presence. To align with the overall look, I paired it with sleek black patent opera gloves, sheer black over-the-knee Stockings, a garter belt, and thigh-high boots.

For the hairstyle, I styled an ear-length silvery White hair cosplay bob, preserving 2B's iconic swept bangs across the forehead. Makeup centered heavily on the eyes: soft pink eyeshadow gradients paired with pale blue-grey contacts struck a balance between detached coolness and sweet femininity. The Bunny girl headband was made from glossy black vinyl embossed with diamond accents; compared to standard plush rabbit ears, this patent leather finish aligned far better with the sci-fi combat aesthetic.

For props, I prepared a katana featuring a silver tsuba guard and a matte black scabbard, which felt delightfully hefty in hand. During shooting, studio lighting was paramount to capturing the specular sheen of the patent leather. Overly diffused soft light would flatten the glossy texture, so the photographer repositioned key strobes and bounce cards to ensure specular highlights cleanly contoured bodily curves against deep shadow.

In front of the camera, I alternated between standing and single-knee kneeling poses. When upright, I gripped the katana with my right hand while keeping my left arm gracefully raised, projecting a cool, sultry presence through body language. In the kneeling pose, bracing the katana vertically while gesturing lightly with my left hand showcased the lower-body styling—the seamless transition between Stockings and thigh-high boots alongside the peek of lace trims. Even with compositional framing bands, the dynamic tension remained striking.

Wearing this ensemble for a studio shoot genuinely tests endurance and stamina. While the patent leather corset pops brilliantly on camera, its breathability is minimal, quickly becoming stifling over prolonged wear. Furthermore, maintaining the precise drape of the swept bangs required heavy styling spray, necessitating careful touch-ups throughout the day. Seeing the final edits, however, made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile. This bunny-style 2B preserves her canonical aloof composure while infusing a daring, alluring edge—a thoroughly satisfying creative endeavor.
