This complete photo set for Hiyuki cosplay from Wuthering Waves is finally ready. We selected an indoor Japanese-style studio set because the character's core motifs harmonize naturally with cherry blossoms, paper shoji doors, and lanterns. The red-and-white miko ensemble with its high-slit design demands disciplined posture; to honor the white-hair, red-eyed characterization, makeup preparation focused specifically on pupil hue and subtle, refined eye lining.

Pre-production began with assessing the wig's sheer density. Tying up ultra-long white locks creates heavy weight at the ends, requiring meticulous anchoring at the crown to prevent slipping mid-shoot. To avoid a stiff, monolithic look, gradient extensions were woven into inner layers, giving the strands organic dimensional depth under lighting. The shoot spanned several hours under a large, warm key light illuminating facial contours, paired with side lights carving shadows into fabric folds—preventing white silks from blowing out while preserving vivid crimson saturation.

The multilayered attire featured off-the-shoulder cuts sensitive to upper-body form, necessitating constant collar and tape checks. The sash served as both an anchor and a design highlight, working with thigh garters and golden ankle bells to elevate tactile richness. Billowing sleeves offered graceful motion, but fabric weight meant carefully guiding skirt trails during seated or raised-leg stances to keep leg lines sleek.

Posing tension proved the greatest discipline. Image 1's formal seiza demanded an upright back to convey dignified restraint. In Images 3 and 4, holding the blade while seated required forearm control to make the weapon look weightless alongside angled legs to elongate proportions. Image 5's single-leg balance under an oil-paper umbrella was the most demanding—engaging core and ankle stability in high-heeled sandals while smoothing thigh and instep muscle tension.

Image 2 transitioned to a side-seated pose on tatami mats, projecting relaxed ease while engaging deep core tension to reveal bust, waist, and leg silhouettes without the skirt obscuring the thigh. In post-production, extensive brushwork digitally layered individual hair strands with distinct highlights and shadows, granting the flowing white ponytail a dynamic sense of breath. Hand-painted foreground and background sakura petals added depth of field. Balancing restrained expressions with expansive limb posture captured that quintessential 2D Onee-san presence with striking visual resonance.
