[Aglaea Cosplay] A Star Rail Girl in a School Uniform: A Refreshing Summer Record

This set of school uniform Aglaea cosplay from May 24th is finally meeting everyone while the weather is perfect. Actually, when conceiving this outfit, I was thinking that besides the conventional gorgeous styles, if this character took on a daily school uniform style, would it create a closer, more down-to-earth feeling in reality?

Although it's a school uniform theme, I still wanted to retain Aglaea's unique character traits in the details. The short blonde hair is the absolute priority of this look. The stylist helped me manage the wig to have a delicate airy feel, and the slightly curled arc looks exceptionally fluffy and soft under the backlight. Compared to a rigid and perfectly smooth look, this short hair with a slight hint of frizz feels more vivid instead. The silver chain hair crown on top of my head and that large plumeria flower are very eye-catching, instantly making the otherwise plain white shirt grab the visual focus so it doesn't turn into just a randomly worn school uniform.

For the makeup pairing, to balance out this light blonde wig, I chose a light-toned base paired with earth-tone eyeshadow for a daily swelling-reduction transition. The contact lenses are a highly vibrant gray-green, which not only echoes the character's setting but also makes the gaze look more focused. Considering the outdoor sunlight on the day of the shoot was very abundant, I specially strengthened the makeup setting, using a combination of matte liquid foundation and setting spray. This way, even when directly facing the intense natural light, the makeup remained clean and fresh, with no reflections or oiliness issues. The lip makeup was chosen from a milk tea color palette, appearing gentle and healthy.

Picking the clothing also took some thought. The white shirt was chosen in a linen-cotton material with a certain translucency, which looks very natural and comfortable under the afternoon sunlight. The blue and white striped tie at the collar is neatly tied, and the exquisite embroidered rose detail on the left chest pocket of the shirt prevents the solid-colored item from being a monotonous existence. The high-waisted black umbrella skirt on the lower body is an item I really love; not only does the high-waist design visually elongate body proportions beautifully, but the skirt hem's drape is also exceptional. Walking slightly or gently lifting the skirt hem like I did in the fifth photo reveals natural leg lines and posture, adding a touch of refreshing playfulness.

The shoot location was selected in a corridor with extending Roman columns; this kind of architectural structure with depth and a sense of framing is naturally an excellent background for taking photos. The sunlight that day was very abundant, casting mottled shadows on the ground through the treetops and stone pillars on one side. The photographer Longxiang nightfall is highly skilled at utilizing this natural light and shadow. He had me hold a transparent cold drink cup and a straw, and through interactions like drinking the cold beverage or handing the drink to the camera, the otherwise static posing gained a slice-of-life atmosphere. I especially love that composition of standing and lifting the skirt hem; the light and shadow perfectly traced the lines from the waist to the skirt, looking upright yet relaxed.

We also encountered a small interlude during the shoot, such as an occasional gust of wind blowing over and directly messing up the wig's styling. However, the photographer caught a few snapshots with the flow, which instead gave the frames a bit more dynamism and spontaneity. For the post-processing of this set of photos, my request was to keep it as restrained as possible, with no need for excessive skin smoothing or intense filters; for the most part, only subtle color adjustments and the balance of warm and cool light were done, preserving the authentic texture of the skin and the natural sense of light. For a Summer Outdoor Cosplay session, this clean, realistic style often has more vitality and is more enduring than a heavy photo-studio style.

Because the prop was only this simple beverage cup, we tried our best to vary our action design as much as possible—the relaxation of sitting, the upright posture of turning sideways, and movements like adjusting the tie or lifting the skirt hem with my hands were all meant to multi-dimensionally showcase the details of this school uniform from different angles. Personally, I believe that cosplay doesn't necessarily mean recreating massive scenes from the plot; sometimes, switching to a daily setting and unearthing the state the character might have in real life will bring a wonderful chemical reaction instead. I hope this school uniform version of Aglaea can make everyone feel that fresh and slightly cool atmosphere in summer.
