[Castorice cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail—Phantom Butterfly Scythe Dancing in Dreamy Illumination

This Castorice cosplay outfit incorporates numerous delicate elements in its design. The white-and-purple paneling on the bandeau top, paired with front bow decorations, beautifully outlines the character's silhouette. The multi-layered skirt creates a rich contrast between its dark purple outer layer and pale inner lining, while irregular hem edges and subtle dark patterns lend fluidity and depth to the lower body during movement.

Moving to the giant scythe—the visual centerpiece among props. The shaft length and blade curvature underwent repeated trial comparisons for custom fabrication, balancing overall weight. It can be held casually in one hand for a dashing posture or wielded with both hands to freeze dynamic, powerful strikes. In these shots, the scythe harmonizes with the overall purple-and-white color scheme, serving as an unmissable focal point while infusing dark fantasy flair.

Makeup and hair coordination proved equally vital for successful shots. I selected a light purple wig, styling it with subtle curls to enhance overall volume and fluffiness. For makeup, reddish-brown eyeshadow smudging paired with natural false eyelashes created deep, expressive eyes. A soft pink lip color balanced the sharpness of the eye makeup, highlighting her gentle agility. Fine floral and leaf hair accessories at the crown further elevated overall refinement and atmospheric presence.

We selected a commercial center for location shooting, featuring expansive high-hanging light strings in the background. Utilizing large-aperture lenses transformed these warm lights into soft, dreamy bokeh spots, perfectly enhancing the magical ambiance. Throughout shooting, the photographer explored various perspectives—from medium shots with blurred backgrounds emphasizing props and character to full-body frames highlighting proportions—striving to present her aura through optimal framing.

In truth, a successful shot relies on meticulous early preparation: fine-tuning sizing, ensuring prop portability, and setting wig bangs all require advance planning. On the shoot day, despite being a public venue, the understanding and cooperation of passersby provided a welcoming environment. Stepping into a crowd wearing this outfit offers an immersive experience and spontaneous joy that defines the unique appeal of Anime cosplay.

While the white, purple, and pink color combination feels visually gentle, wielding the giant scythe transforms her presence instantly, shifting from delicate grace to battle-ready intensity—a tension born of contrast. Although this palette can be demanding under natural light, the indoor mall lighting captured the fabric's delicate luster and premium texture effortlessly.

Material selections balanced aesthetic elegance with practical mobility. For instance, white tights featuring irregular cutout textures added visual detail while extending leg proportions; paired with pointed-toe high-heeled boots adorned with bow elements, the lower body silhouette appeared elongated and sleek. Symmetric yet subtly varied arm and underarm ornaments offered additional nuances worth appreciating.

Through multiple fittings and adjustments, these Convention photos aligned closely with my vision. Lifting and swinging the scythe required precise positioning and focused gazes to unify the prop with body lines. The photographer's patient guidance and clever on-site lighting made this set possible.
