[Escoffier cosplay] Genshin Impact Pastry Chef BW Convention Live Log

The convention hall at BW 2026 was teeming with crowds, and for this event, I brought my cosplay of Escoffier from Genshin Impact. Ahead of time, I poured a ton of thought into recreating both the outfit and wig. Putting on the long, curly bright orange wig, styling the side braid, and topping it off with blue floral hairpins and that iconic white chef hat instantly established the character's signature silhouette.

For the makeup, to reflect the character's persona, I chose bright blue contact lenses paired with rosy blush to illuminate my complexion. The costume was the true centerpiece of the look: the top is white, centered by an eye-catching, oversized red bow accented with blue gemstones and metallic ornaments. Black shawl pieces were spliced across both shoulders, leading into white puff sleeves finished with color-blocked red, black, and gold cuffs for rich textural layers. Below, I wore white Stockings paired with side skirt panels in spliced red, black, and gold adorned with gilded patterns, complemented by a cascading red ribbon on the side. To honor the pastry chef motif, I carefully coordinated my footwear to keep the entire look cohesive.

The booth sets at the expo were remarkably well-matched to this attire. I discovered a café-style booth featuring wooden shelves, warm pendant lights, and an espresso machine. Framed by a red-and-white checkered tablecloth, I picked up a floral-patterned teacup, sat in the chair, and crossed my legs. To capture a flattering frame, I kept my back straight and shoulders relaxed, paying close attention to my hand gestures to hold the teacup steadily. Because the skirt is fairly short, sitting required balancing the drape of the hem with my leg angles to naturally reveal the detailing of the white Stockings.

The crowd on the floor was immense, and despite the air conditioning, walking back and forth in this layered costume left me drenched in sweat. Wearing the wig for hours started to feel tight, requiring periodic adjustments to ensure the shape stayed sharp. Still, every click of the photographer's shutter and every compliment from passing convention-goers filled me with genuine joy.

While posing, I tried to channel Escoffier's self-assured and graceful poise. Holding the teacup, my gaze needed to stay gentle yet focused, tilting my head slightly toward the lens while showcasing the neckline. The photographer continuously adjusted the lighting and angles, positioning me in the booth's best ambient light to faithfully capture the fabric textures and the vivid color of the wig.

My time at BilibiliWorld was incredibly fulfilling. Beyond getting photos I'm proud of, I connected with so many fellow Genshin Impact and Escoffier fans. Chatting in front of the booth, exchanging tips on tailoring and wig maintenance—that sense of community is unbeatable. Bringing a detail-heavy character to life on the convention floor was a wonderful milestone for me. I'll keep refining my hair, makeup, and camera presence, striving to deliver even more heartfelt work in the future.
